Great Intmate space for hot pot

My family and I had a wonderful experience at The Dolar Shop. They provided us with optimal sitting, as well as some additional accommodations for our toddler! The food was delicious, and they had plenty of favorites. Kid-friendliness: Provided highchair and safety instructions.

So, I know there's some restaurants struggling in this economy, and maybe this is one of them, but ambush pricing is not the answer. The place is nice, and the pricing reflects it, but honestly, the food is not so super special as that. After all, you're basically dipping raw food into soup. They have a good selection of soups (broth) that are well made and very tasty. However, if you want a custom combo (we wanted spicy and pork broth), forget it. They have two combo's (half one soup, half another) that don't encompass the full range of taste experiences and they refuse to customize anything. This is just absurd on it's face, and smacks of a distinct lack of concern for the customer. Then at the end, you go to pay, and they flash this sign at you, which is intentionally placed on your table so as to hide the side with the big red flag on it. Look, everyone has to pay credit card fees. We accept that as choice for using (and accepting!!) credit cards. I have my fees as a consumer already, and I don't need to absorb your business fees on top of it. Using that as an arm twist to extort some kind of ridiculous survey from us (probably for the sole purpose of spamming marketing email) is egregious, cheap, selfish, and insulting. It's a sure sign that the business is not there for the patron, only for themselves.

Amazing experience. It’s definitely on a higher price option, higher than some steakhouses I’ve been to. The service was great, the broth was good. The a5 wagyu I ordered was way too thin for me to enjoy, for the price I would expect a bit more but it was paper thin. The sauce + salad bar didn’t have enough appetizers and dessert options for me. Soft serve at the end was really good. Service was amazing though.

Amazing broth especially the tomato and spicy broth. The sauces also very good.

Tips are after-tax without even noticed

Best Hot Pot in WA (and not even close). Lunch platters have a good cost / benefit
