Two good milds on for Camra mild magic mild promotion

Used to be my favourite pub in Stockport and always busy. Only me in today and beer was awful

Years since I've been in here but Friday night 8ish and about six people in. Two of the beers hadn't been delivered. Not like it used to be.

What a tragedy. This used to be a wonderful pub but my has it gone downhill. Don't bother. Until the pubco that owns it gets it's act together it's going to completely miss out on the potential it's ideal siteing will offer. Filling a chacterfull building with screens and speakers isn't a draw anymore. Ugh!

New landlord, Buster. Place is sparkling and clean, real ale also excellent.

Back in the 1976 Good Beer Guide this Boddington's pub noted the " Awesome view" of the Victorian railway viaduct. I thus called it "The Awesome View." The view remains. It became a real ale Mecca with a huge beer selection and beer festivals. Casta and I making first visit in a few years and not happy. Only three real ales now but the pub feels neglected. Did not like my " Crown Ale"...tasted stale. ( Very illiterative!) The Landlord is maybe trying to resurrect the pub vibe?They have a pool table and large outdoor area to the rear with a music stage. Used to love this pub so very sad to see it like this.
