Wonderful vegan restaurant in the PHX area tucked away in the neighborhoods and offers delicious plant-based Mexican goodness. I came here to celebrate my sister's commencement from ASU and they were a highlight of the week. Our table started with their Fried Guacamole and their Cauliflower Bites. The guac was my Mom's favorite dish which speaks volumes since she rarely eats much outside of East Asian cooking. The bites were fine but a bit too salty for my liking. For our mains, we tried their Potato Tacos, Mushroom Tacos, Jackfruit Flautas, their California Burrito with cremini asada, and a Caesar Salad. Their potato and mushroom tacos were superb with the former really reminding me of Taco Bell but in the best way. The flautas were topped with a pickled slaw and the seasoned jackfruit really made the dish stand out. My parents enjoyed their burrito and salad as well, and didn't realize until the end of the meal that everything we had was plant based. The vibe inside was fantastic too. Nice mood lighting for a good atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend Coronado for anyone wanting a fantastic meal whether they eat plant-based or not. Everything was just delicious. Quite literally the most delicious vegan cake I’ve ever eaten in my 52 years! I visited the Coronado yesterday with my best friend. We both ordered the Chimichanga and it was outstanding! I replaced the cream topping with salsa and it really gave the dish an extra spicy kick. We went for a walk, then I returned for a piece of their chocolate peanut butter cake with warm peanut and banana compote… to go. It was the last piece! I couldn’t believe my luck! I returned home, opened the box and proceeded to consume the most decadent slice of heaven. My entire world stopped for a moment as I slowly enjoyed each bite. Go get this cake!!!!!! The chimichangas are delightful, but this cake could change the world! Wonderful service and very relaxing atmosphere! Bravo Coronado!
The vibe, food, music and service was stellar. Definitely will go there again. Awesome experience.
Not great. We were seated outside, and the only attention we ever got from the server was her asking if someone seated us at our table. I guess she had reason to believe we just wondered in and took a seat. Pretty weird way to start out. We spent the next 10 minutes looking over the menu while getting zero attention from the wait staff. Speaking of which, the dinner menu is pretty rough. Brunch looks way better. I saw the brunch pictures and just assumed dinner would be great too, but it isn’t. Word to the wise: do not take non-vegan people here for dinner. It’s the most granola hippie menu you can imagine. They basically just serve quinoa, potatoes, beans, and maybe tofu if you’re lucky, in various permutations. We ended up just going to the bar and getting a drink. I will say the bartender was quite competent, and the host-type person was friendly. Overall though pretty negative experience.
Delicious! We tried the cauliflower and the potato tacos, soo good. Very filling too! I'll be back again next time I get a craving for some amazing vegan tacos. Update: the new location is nice, food is still great. However, the bathrooms are ATROCIOUS. It's so dark, it's nearly impossible to see. With a flashlight (which is literally necessary), I can see how dirty it is. I know a dirty bathroom is not a good sign, so I had to lower my rating.
Definitely a coven, and we're all the happier for it. We're visiting from Albuquerque and you cured our hangovers. Delicious food and drink in a cute spot.
I went out of my comfort zone to find a dish that appealed to me (and my preference for a healthy, fresh and organic foods) on the menu that had very few options. The menu is heavy on the carbs, white flour and fried options. I finally opted for a vegan burrito bowl. I received a bowl with huge chunks of greasy fried potatoes, some white gunk (assumably GMO tofu) with a few black beans sitting on a bed of spinach. It was the greasiest and most disgusting meal I've had in ages.
