My wife and I decided it was high time to liberate the kids from the house before they completely fused with the couch. The heat had been relentless, turning our home into a sweat lodge, so we packed everyone up and headed to the village for a splashy event—literally. The kids were ecstatic at the sight of the water splash area, where they could run wild and douse themselves in gallons of water. It was the perfect escape from the blazing heat, and watching them burn off their endless energy felt like a win for us as parents. As we settled into the village, my caffeine radar went off. Initially, I was all set to head to Starbucks, my tried-and-true sanctuary, but then a little voice in my head said, 'Hey, let’s shake things up a bit!' So, I wandered over to Coffee Bean instead, which is a rare occurrence for me. Walking into the Coffee Bean felt like stepping into an alternate universe—familiar, yet different. I stood there, squinting at the menu like I was deciphering an ancient scroll, trying to decide on the perfect drink. After what felt like a solid three minutes of intense deliberation, I finally opted for a regular-sized Vanilla Bean cold brew. Naturally, I added two extra pumps of vanilla because, at that point, why not treat myself? As I waited for my order, I noticed the place was practically deserted. The vibe was more 'quiet library' than 'bustling coffee shop.' When they called my name, it felt like I'd just won the lottery, minus the confetti and giant check. The drink itself was a work of art—smooth, cold, and topped off with those tiny, perfectly shaped ice cubes that I have an irrational love for. It was the kind of drink that makes you want to sip slowly, savoring every moment. However, something felt off. The staff, who I’m sure are lovely people, looked like they were stuck in a retail version of Groundhog Day. No smiles, no banter, just a collective countdown to closing time. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by Starbucks, where the baristas practically do a happy dance when they hand you your drink. It was like expecting a Broadway show and getting a high school play—it’s fine, just not what you were hoping for. All in all, the experience was... fine. The drink was great, the ambiance was so-so, and the staff seemed ready to bolt the minute the clock hit closing time. But hey, Coffee Bean served its purpose. If I’m ever in the area again, maybe wandering around the village with the kids, and I need a morning caffeine boost or a little pick-me-up, I might just swing by. Especially if I’m feeling adventurous and want to stray from my Starbucks routine. After all, sometimes it’s fun to live on the edge—just not too far from the edge, you know?

The review from a month ago about young and inexperienced employees here was spot-on. This wasn't just the worst customer service I've ever seen at a Coffee Bean. This was the worst I've seen at any coffee shop. Ever. If any manager/owner/corporate executive reads this...get your employees trained in customer service at this location. It's a complete clown show here.

This place is awful. The baristas are young and inexperienced in customer service and conflict resolution. I saw the way they let a white women cut in front of 6 people of color. The young people of color had been patiently waiting their turn. When the woman arrived, she attempted to cut them all in line. One of the young women in the group brought this to the cashier's attention. She let him (I believe his name was Alonso) know that the group had been waiting their first. The white woman acknowledged that they had been there first. The cashier took the order from one of the young people in the group, then let the white women cut. He said he did this because the group of 6 had formed in a place the line typically doesn't form. He said it is "common knowledge" that the line would form a different way. It was his job to manage the situation. Instead of making it better, he belittled the group of young folks. The line is not defined by a sign or by stickers on the floor. I am so disappointed in this location. I am curious to know why this young man made the decision that he did. It looks and smells like racial discrimination. Either that or he simple does not have the training to be alone at this location. I will not be coming to this location again! I do not support unjust treatment of anyone!!!

My wife wanted to stop by here after eating next door at XOC Tequila Grill. When we walked inside, they were not busy so my wife was able to order right away. She got her mocca Latte but the worker told her that they ran out of whip cream. She said she would try it without the whip cream. The inside of this place is not that big but they have a couple tables where you can sit. It took like 10 minutes for my wife drink to come out. The person making the drinks took a while when I guess doing someone online order. When the drink was ready for pickup, my wife totally didn't like her drink.

Getting alittle annoyed with this place. Their hazelnut ice blended is really delicious. However, the last two times we have been here they have not followed directions on our drinks. Had asked for two hazelnut ice blended drinks, one with oatmilk no whipped cream and the other with whipped cream. Somehow, we always end up getting one of them hot. First time they gave us a $5 gift card for it, yay I guess. We used it on our second visit and the girl said she think these kind of gift cards expire. I thought thats illegal for them to expire in California, but okay. Anyway, I would like hope that they'd do better in the future with directions and service. Perhaps this may be why their competitor is on practically every corner and they are not.

This is a great CBTL. Conveniently located at the end of the village mall right near Costco, so you can grab your favorite beverage for either shopping excursion. Staff is super nice too!

I don't understand what's so hard about offering a 32oz cup but never having the dome lid for whipped cream!? I always order a 32oz matcha and pay extra for oat milk and ask for whipped cream and the assistant loves to pour out damn near HALF my drink for whipped cream when I ask them to put it directly on top without pouring out my drink. If I wanted a large I wouldn't be ordering the 32 oz in the first place.
