Huge portions, very professional and kind staff

Off the beaten track for a lunchtime visit on Friday, both log burners we're blazing on a cold winter day. The fish and chips were simply the best I've ever had, anywhere!

Had a lovely Sunday lunch today. Pate and pulled pork croquettes to start, roast beef and 3 little pigs medley then apple and rhubarb crumble. Everything was delicious and very generous portions also good value for money. The staff were very welcoming and it was cosy with the log burners on. We did laugh when the crumble came out with the Pyrex jug of custard, a yummy homely touch. We will definitely return to try some of the other dishes on offer.

Lovely little country pub. Sunday Lunch was fantastic, great portions without being excessively huge and well priced. Friendly vibe for 'outsiders', no one eyeing you up when you come in the door and some great local walks too. Very highly recommended.

Amazing local community pub. I'll be back for my seventieth.
