The Burger Bar & Tap

Absolutely love their philly!! Dietary restrictions: I was able to change items for food allergies on my pizza. Parking: Lots of parking in the plaza. And perk, secretary of state closes before most dinner times, so there is plenty at that time. Kid-friendliness: Kids are more than welcome any dayy, any time. Great family dining.

I want to give this place 5 stars lol. I've dined in as well as gotten take out. Take out is hit or miss. The first time was perfect. Like wow so good. And the reason why I went back. Got take-out a second time, ordered the Boursin burger, and it was missing toppings - including the boursin (??? Lol like how?) Third time I did carry out, got home and had the complete wrong burger. For $20, it'd be nice if it were at least the right one Dining in - restaurant is nice, clean, plenty of space etc.. food again really good. However. Our waitress was out of sorts or high or something. Asked for a water, she says "yeah sure.. can I get you guys water or anything?" Ordered drinks to have while we waited for the food, a porter and a mixed drink. She brought the beer but it was something equivalent to a bud lite and didn't bring the mixed drink at all. Eventually asked for the mixed drink again and finally got it. So I guess I'm going to skip it for a while because it's getting not to be worth the price vs aggravation.

So the service was great here, amazing waitress and a friendly atmosphere. The fried foods me and my wife got were good. Great waffle fries and onions rings. Drinks were also good. Now the reason I docked a star was the burger. Me and my wife both order a cheeseburger, and in the menu it states they will all be cooked medium to medium well. That wasn't the case for ours, very well done, and a bit dry. They didn't season it well at all either. Only things I could taste was the chili on it, and thankfully it had it because I wouldn't of eaten it without something to moisten it up. Over all a good experience, just not the best burgers for them each costing 20$ a piece. So maybe avoid the burgers at the "BURGER" bar and tap lol.

Went tonight for the first time and was truly let down. Service was not the greatest and food was not good at all. Appetizer took forever to come. Then we got our meals, husband got Philly and it was plain with no seasoning. I got the olive burger which also was plain. Fries were terrible all around. Server asked our opinions so we were honest and then he got kind of argumentative with us. Said he couldn’t offer a discount but would get us a manager. We never asked for a discount as we are not those kind of people. Simply said we did not want boxes to take it home. Sad cause we were excited to try this place but it definitely was a one and done for us. GOOD LUCK
