Solid pub food in a cosy environment. The waitresses were lovely, typical Northern hospitality.

Very good food, wide choice good portions and very hospitable hosts.

We arrived unannounced and Asked for a table for two, greeted by pleasant and friendly Staff who offered us various tables. The pub was very busy for a Wednesday dinner time, we ordered our drinks and we were showed to our table, drinks arrived in a timely manner, order for food taken and again arrived in a timely manner, food was superb. The staff were very friendly and professional. This pub is very cosy with a great ambiance, This pub is well worth the drive and we will certainly be visiting again.

A very pleasant, well appointed watering hole with surprisingly good menu, service and prices. Not exactly local but well worth a visit.

Turned up after a walk without booking. The place was really busy and there were no tables available. A member of staff was super helpful and created a table just for us! Very accommodating, welcoming and polite. We were very grateful. The staff are super friendly and food was beautiful. At a very reasonable price! We will be returning in the future. Would advise to book as it does get very busy but I'm not surprised with the great service we received thanks again! We'll be sure to book next time

Had a lovley lunch from their Retro Menu great value . I had chicken stroganoff with rice . My husband had Corned beef pie with chunky chips Staff and management always make us feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble.

I was really happy to discover I could have a small potion. Check your bill carefully, we didn't. I had fish&chips, had to ask for Tartar Sauce. By chance much later discover there was an extra £5.50 for 'other food'? The only thing it could be was the Tartar Sauce. Won't go back.

Honestly all I am going to say is atrocious! The manager is rude and should not work in an environment with customers! The food was cold and took forever to come out. There are plenty of lovely pubs in the area try the alma or the beehive! Go to somewhere where they appreciate your customer! The boothwood inn is a big NO GO!
