The Boil Daddy - Garland

It’s affordable but I Could not even finish this a waste of money ! Whatever sauce flavor or recipe is used should be changed! I felt sick after eating

I’ve only had the boil shrimp in the daddy sauce it’s a mix of cajun and garlic butter sauce it’s super good!! I will be ordering again!!

Context: I have never had a sea boil in my life till now as of 12/26/23 and Wow this was an expensive meal! I ordered on DoorDash (which is always more expensive) because I had gotten home from my date with my boyfriend and we didn’t get anything eat because he wasn’t feeling very well :( It’s was a little over $60 ($54 + $20 tip for my driver because we should all be tipping our drivers since they don’t get the delivery fee ) But Anyway, I ordered a BOGO deal for two shrimp bows with garlic Cajun sauce. In the bowl is jasmine rice, shrimp, sausage, red potatoes, lemon slice, and a very zesty garlic Cajun sauce. I’m not sure if the sauce was going to come separately or not, but I guess it does not come separately and I didn’t receive any separate containers. I tried the shrimp without mixing it in with garlic Cajun sauce and it was pretty good. I don’t understand all the other reviews saying the shrimp is dirty and is not deveined when it clearly is. I know shrimp, I use to spend whole afternoons Deveining shrimp with my Grandma and it sure looks deveined to me. Maybe this was issue a few months ago though. I don’t know. Sauce: I definitely have opinions about it. This garlic Cajun sauce is the most zestiest garlicky sauce I have ever tasted. It’s so garlicky and zesty that the smell is pungent and sour. And taste as such too. It’s not the most unpleasant flavor, but it is VERY strong. The older reviews had problems with the sauce being too bland…not anymore lol. Personally? I Can handle it, I like strong flavors but this sauce can get a little overwhelming if I’m being honest. But, maybe it’s just because I’ve never had this kind of meal before. What is a garlic Cajun sauce suppose to taste like? Is there a right way to make it? I don’t know, but this sauce has chunks of garlic in it too—now if you’ve ever had raw garlic you now it taste Clean Plate Club? Nope I enjoyed eating all the shrimp and sausage and little bites of rice but the shrimp and sausage filled me up and I could not stomach eating all that rice. This is entirely my fault because I decided to pair it with some leftover shrimp fetuchini Alfredo (can you tell that I like shrimp?) I made from scratch a few days ago. Sauce: strong opinion. It’s waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy too pungent. The zesty lemon and garlic flavors are delicious but it’s way too much in this sauce and makes it too sour. I like it, i would love it if it was toned down a bit. One reviewer I saw got a little racist over the taste and said it was bad like Chinese food (wow,,,can you even trust someone who doesn’t like Chinese?) others said it has no flavor at all (they must have long COVID or something…). Overall I think it’s a four (4/5) because the food is still good. I have no comment on the service of the restaurant, its managers, or kitchen staff. Maybe I’ll make a person visit the next time I want seafood.

Disgusting! I’m a big seafood person and this was absolutely not it. I accidentally ordered from here on door dash i meant to order red crab and was highly disappointed in the flavor.

Worst boiled shrimp ever… sauce is so thick… not tasty at all.. should have stayed with the boiling crab…

Pros: food hot and tasty Cons: Ordered boneless wings, got bone in chicken legs The portions of the bone in chicken were quite small, about 4 tiny chicken legs and 3 wings, considering the cost of about $20 (tax included), the value of the meal is quite disproportionate. may try them again, however quite unlikely.

Absolutely disgusting boil. I have eaten some boils in my time and thought I'd give a local place a whirl. Paid almost 80 bucks for 4 snowcrab legs which had obviously been frozen before, potatoes and corn all covered in the most godawful spice concoction I have ever tasted. It came with jasmine rice and fries. Those were okay. Bye, Daddy.
