My husband and I had about 45 minutes to eat breakfast before attending a local basketball game. We were walking on the sidewalk and when we noticed the EMPTY restaurant we decided to check it out. When we walked inside there were 4 total people eating (should’ve been a red flag for brunch on the weekend) . The hostess stand was on the opposite side of the room and the hostess was very awkward about greeting us from across the restaurant. I felt VERY unwelcome by her reaction to seeing us. My husband and I walked over and when she asked if we had a reservation and we answered no she immediately turned us away as if we were foolish to think we could get a table in the empty restaurant. Then she went on and on in a long winded lecture about reservations. We only have a few minutes to eat before the game so my husband and I turned to leave, but the hostess I guess picked up on the fact that I was upset about being turned away and was trying to ask us question after question about how long we’re going to be in Charlotte and how we should make reservations for later and when I again tried to leave she kept like forcing me to stay to have a conversation with her. It felt like when you’re trying to leave a car dealership and they don’t want you to go. In the end we never ate here, but still had a terrible, awkward, and very uncomfortable experience due to the bizarre attitude from the hostess. Would not recommend this place.

Only one of our party of three enjoyed the meal. My burger was incredibly dry and overcooked. The service was lackluster at best and missing in action most of the time. Thankfully the company was great so we made the best of our Christmas present exchange. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free.

Wonderful atmosphere and ambiance. Incredible wait staff. The food was food. Great place to visit for a meal with friend's, and family when you're in the uptown area

Great experience! On a short business trip and staying nearby; I walked in to try the food. I enjoyed the lunch so much that I also went back for dinner. Tasty, healthy, homey food options. Friendly service and great ambiance.

My wife and I went up to Charlotte to see Home Free, and we decided to stay the evening. While this place is impossible to get to because of all the traffic configurations, the hotel is superb.

I had a salad and gnocchi and they were both delicious! The waiter was also very knowledgeable about the menu and provided fantastic service. Parking: They will validate your parking ticket if you park in their garage.

Have had more than one miserable experience here. The last time half of the items on the small menu were out including wine options. What we did order never arrived — we had to abandon our meal after waiting 45 min because we had theater plans. Server was nice but young and inexperienced. The fact that Charlotte magazine continues to recommend them as an uptown option makes me wonder if there’s a pay to play option. It’s certainly not based on food or service.
