Strongly recommend against allowing your kids to eat at this place. During pandemic we supported Thai 1st Bistro at Blakney by placing orders. Today was Homecoming at Ardrey Kell High School and kids from our community had gone there for food. Kids age are around 15. The boys didn’t pay any tip since they don’t earn and it was their parents money. On leaving the restaurant, the lady from restaurant came out after them, “yelled at the kids for not paying the tip further saying don’t make servers slave over you, if you guys are poor don’t eat outside and this is America not India. “ This is absolutely wrong behaviour from Thai1st@Blakeney. Following the kids outside and yelling is abusive behaviour. Any parent would be upset. I earn, dine out with family and if the service is good I do tip using my hard earned money. If it’s really about the tipping culture, it’s going out of hand.
I am disheartened by the behavior of the server at the restaurant. Tonight, my high schooler went there with his friend to celebrate homecoming. After their dinner, they paid the bill and left the restaurant. However, a lady from the restaurant followed the boys and yelled in public, saying, 'You guys need to leave a tip. If you can't afford to tip, you should eat at home. This is a free country, America, not your country.'" Would she have behaved the same way with adults?
People please be AWARE of this place when you send your teens. They can be humiliated, harassed esp if your origin is not of this country. there has been tons of such incident
This place has sort of ok food but the owner chefs and servers are just unbearable and racist. They expect tip with substandard service. Just not going there again.
Very poor customer service and very bad attitude by the receptionist
This place needs to be on one of those Restaurant Help shows. I’m shocked that they have been in business for 14 years! The service was poor, I feel bad writing a bad review (reason for 2 stars) because it’s a family business but a smile from the owners & a simple “have you been here before?” could go a long way. It was our first time. The food was unfortunately really bad, I couldn’t finish it and I never leave behind food. I got the red curry, it was too watery. The flavor was kind of there but for a family from Thailand, this is very not authentic and it felt like they were only concerned with making a profit..it lacks love, care, and pride. Normally family restaurant food is better than franchise type restaurants. I could probably make a better red curry at home without a recipe and I’m not a great cook. I do feel bad for the restaurant and hope that they are able to turn things around. In the meantime, I don’t recommend that anyone go here. My experience was really topped off when I got the bill & saw how expensive it was for such low quality food.
