Tequila's Mexican Restaurant & Cantina

Made a reservation through the restaurants website. When I got to the restaurant there was no reservation for me. We were able to be seated right away at a mini table by the kitchen; not off to a great start. The $10 margarita was all sour mix and mango puree. I asked for a salted rim but the bartender salted the side of the glass. So if I want to have salt with my drink I’m supposed to lick the side of the glass? That’s so gross. The chips and salsa were good. The street tacos were good. The rice, which we ordered with our tacos but I had to ask for it well after the tacos were served, was not good. The elote might be good? Idk, we ordered it but it never came to the table. The queso dip was good, but for $12 I was disappointed that it tasted like it came from the grocery store. And lastly, our bill was wrong. If you want to try this place I suggest getting a carry out. And make sure to check the bag and your bill before you head home.

Music was played either extremely loud or very quiet. I couldn't hear someone across my table talking. Food and service were amazing

We have talked about trying this place for months. It beats making the drive to Mexican town although, the prices are a little higher. I ordered enchiladas and they were great. Not dry like some places. My fiance' ordered chimi changas and really liked it. He ate the whole thing. I do think the portion could have been a little larger. The service was okay. The hostess seemed very out of it and our waitress went missing for a significant amount of time when we were ready for the bill. I liked the mariachi band they had playing until 9pm. It was a Friday night and they were pretty busy. They had a birthday in the house celebrating so it was pretty lively. Definitely my kind of crowd, but might be a turn off for older folks. My fiance' got the fried ice cream for dessert. It was really good. They have these big margarita containers you can order which is pretty cool. The decor was nice and gave you the feeling of being in San Diego. I don't like they give you chips and salsa and if you want more they charge you for them. That should be complimentary. Their salsa was amazing. They have an upstairs I am not sure what it is used for, but would be cool if it was used as an event room for parties, baby showers etc and could even offer dance classes. Just an idea for management to think about to bring in more business. Over all great experience and a great new addition to Roseville.

Always friendly and Friday nights from 7pm-9pm are live. Food is good also.
