Good burgers, generous portions

Tonight was my first time at Tastys. They opened this location not long ago. I got great service. Friendly welcome and prompt. Clean store location at Telegraph and Vanborn. Staff was friendly, and I can't stress this enough. Very welcoming. Presentable clean work area, too. As far as the food ( I had the original burger), it was absolutely terrible. Credit to the cooking staff - they did NOTHING wrong. They cooked it as requested and served it promptly. However, the taste and quality of the food itself left a lot to be desired. Poor seasoning, special sauce mediocre at best, brioche bun was thick excessive bread. I took the bottom bun off to finish the burger. Tomatoes no taste either. Diced onions would have been better as sliced raw whole onion rings, but it wasn't an issue. The food just wasn't good. But the service was great. Despite the poor food quality with the burgers, they may have good food otherwise in their other items. I have no idea. I'd say give them a chance because the service is good. They have an opportunity to improve the food quality at least. Usually it is poor customer service kills off customers. That was not the case at this location for me. Anyway, thanks for the good service and clean restaurant.
