Tattersall Craft Cocktail Room NE

It is interesting how often we forget the tried and true and rush to the new. The Tattersall distillery was forced by antiquated Minnesota liquor laws to move to Wisconsin if they wanted to increase production in their distillery. However, their tasting room in the Thorpe building in Northeast Minneapolis is still open. Instead of waiting hours at the "hot" new places, come on back to Tattersall. It was started in 2015, and has been going strong since then. We made reservations, but even on Saturday night we did not need them. We sat at the bar as usual, and the two bartenders were awesome. They were extremely knowledgeable about all the various spirits made by Tattersall, and we had little tastes of some of the new items as we ordered. I did a flight of their two new gins and their absinthe. I liked them a lot. One gin gets a two week aging in chardonnay barrels. This takes the hotness out of their original gin in a very nice way. It doesn't leave it oaky. Apparently it has won a number of awards in various competitions. The Rosso gin is new, and it is very good! Apparently they added rose petals and berries to their mix of botanicals. It is a very nice gin. We tried two cocktails. They change their cocktail menu every 3 months, so it is good to stop in and have a look. My husband had the Houndstooth, which is rye, amaro, meadowsweet, and black strap bitters. We saw a lot of them heading out to other customers. Their take on a classic gin-based negroni was really good. Their orange bitter liqueur, their amaro, and their sour cherry liqueurs gave it a cherry back note that was quite interesting. They only serve popcorn, pretzels, and beef jerky, but there was a pop up Asian restaurant in the Thorpe building if you wanted to get food. They also have a room where you can buy their spirits. Nice! At $12 and $13 for most drinks, it is also more affordable than the newer glitzy places. It was a super relaxing place for a cocktail. And I love not having to drive around in search of parking!

Wow! This place rocks. We had four fantastic cocktails here, my favorite being the Aquavit dirty martini Hailey made me. Everything was so well executed and there was such integrity and thought with the preparation of our drinks. Both of our bartenders were amazing! I only got the name of Hailey but the other girl bartending (strawberry blonde hair and glasses) were AMAZING! Both girls were honestly some of the best bartenders I’ve ever came across, and I’m very well traveled and love going to new bars, and also I have bartended for over 10 years in my past. They were so engaging, and wonderful to have conversation with. And ultimately they were extremely talented and gifted with their craft, making incredible cocktails. Go here! 10/10 experience! We WILL be back. Thank you!

Fantastic craft cocktails. Relaxed atmosphere.

We came here tonight to celebrate our friend’s birthday with a large group. The cocktails were amazing and our server Sophia was stellar!! Literally one of the best servers we’ve ever had. She brought more water before we ran out, she was there checking on us before drinks went dry, and she was overall very helpful and attentive. We will definitely be back! Thanks to Sophia for helping make it such a great night!

Very impressed with the drinks, service, and staff. Some of the best bartenders I have come across. Their drinks are slightly on the pricy side. The parking lot also requires a bit of work. Overall great experience.

Tattersall is a distillery and bar/cocktail room in NE Minneapolis. The drink menu is somewhat standard, but the unique part is that they distill their own spirits. So, all the drinks feel (and are) extremely local, carefully crafted, and delicious. The vibe is chic and relaxed with an industrial-yet-cozy charm. I’d recommend it locals and tourists alike!
