The severs were new so there was some mistakes and food didn't come out quickly. However they were extremely friendly and nice. Even open the door for us when we left. Also we got a complimentary dessert for the anniversary + a polaroid picture :))

Went there tonight with another family so a total of 8 people. Tried the omakase dinner for 2. Seafood platter is very fresh! Suggestion to hold on a bit after seafood platter served before the hot mussels and clams pot. We had to rush finishing the platter before the mussels and clams got cold. Onigiri 🍙 is always famous. Have heard about ramen 🍜 was taking long and they are still taking longer. They were served when we were half way of our omakase. Chawanmushi is tasty.

Good for a new restaurant. Service was really slow for certain dishes but they gave us free dishes so that was really nice. My friend ordered a salad and they came around 2-2.5 hours later after she ordered. I am sure it will get better as they get more organized being a new restaurant only a month old. I would give them a try again. The hot stone was not very good and it had to be replaced 3 times to cook the wagyu. I would recommend they get a better type of hot stone so they don’t have to keep replacing it and their staff will have more time to do other things. (Since I saw another review mentioning this issue) I am curious what type or quality wagyu this was. I feel the quality was mediocre or average. There wasn’t a lot of marbling. Portions are small for the price. I went to the Alley which was kinda scary because google told me the restaurant was there. It’s not. Don’t go there lol.

The taste was really good. I really enjoyed my salmon mayo onigiri, Wagyu DIY hot stone and salad. Because they are really new and popular, I expected the service to be a bit slower, but it took really long for my salad which I wanted to eat before my Wagyu. In the end, the salad was complementary which I appreciate. The taste was 100% and no complaints though. I also had green tea which was great. Location wise, the surrounding area is a bit rough, so I would recommend carpooling or going in groups. The atmosphere was good too. I would like to come again some time and give it a second try. I'd recommend different hot stone plate gas as well as it burned out pretty quickly.

The place has potential but the food is not executed well or needs improvement. Concept is amazing though. Uni sashimi good but you should tell people where its from, onigiri needs work, ratio of filling to rice is off. Rice needs seasoning, same for nigiri rice. Uni temaki was the best thing. Chicken karage. Pieces should be cut smaller. Lobster and chips. Batter should be lighter, more airy. wagyu nigiri, need to use a more marbled cut.

Instead of omakase, we ordered our own uni experience and absolutely loved it! Uni Egg Roll, Uni temaki, luxury deluxe seafood bowl, and diy bbq grilled beef tongue. We loved the uni egg roll that we ordered it twice!

Friendly service and delicious fresh seafood! The seafood sashimi platter is a must and the locally produced sake from Granville Island was a really special touch!

So excited for this new location and it lived up to the hype (mostly)! Let me warn you, it was hard to find the entrance because Google maps may lead you into the alleyway BEHIND the place, but it's on the main street with a tucked in sign, beside a hair salon! Spacious interior but not wheelchair/baby stroller friendly. The dining is located on 2 floors with the first floor being counter/ high top tables and second floor offering regular table seating. They have a two page menu and I was impressed with all the food we got. It was fresh and flavors were well balanced, the luxury deluxe seafood bowl ($48) was full of umami but also a bit underwhelming for the price. The avocado kinoko salad ($14) was refreshing and a nice starter to share. I enjoyed the uni matcha soba ($6) which was another refreshing bite but the noodles were a bit too soft after a few more bites. My favorite was the their Takenaka soda ($6) which was Earl Grey blue matcha with calpico. I was impressed I could taste all the flavors of the individual items and how wonderfully the flavors mingled together. Since I had a stroller, I had to leave it downstairs but the staff were very kind to help me bring it up to the first floor to keep it safe and helped us with the door and everything when we left. Exemplar service!
