I didn't realize how extensive the collection was, and was excited to learn so much about Cincinnati's history. Thought provoking special exhibits.

A nice collection gathered by a family over their time of wealth. Heavy in Asian porcelain, and Dutch and French painters.

This is a wonderful art museum set in a historic home in Cincinnati. Inside, you explore the rooms of the home surrounded by art work. There are some real gems from the likes of Turner and Sargent (many more too) as well as religious art work and special exhibitions. The decor of the rooms is beautiful and the information about each piece of artwork and the rooms is fantastic, lots of great facts that bring the experience to life. The museum actually offers free entry on I believe Sunday and Monday which is great value and you can easily spend an hour exploring. They don't allow any drinks in the museum (apart from for special reasons eg medical), even capped bottles. There's a small cafe and gift shop (the shop is great, very nice range of souvenirs on offer!), and all the staff were really friendly too!

I loved their African American exhibit, was very nice and well put together, just wish they were a little more kid friendly though. Telling kids they can't have candy, then getting upset when they won't behave is weird and that's one big thing that turned me off. Also, you couldn't touch the plaques to read along with the passages of the story behind the art, so I also didn't like that either they're way to pushy and bossy. I understand they're in an inner city with maniacs but it's not fair to treat everyone that way, they need better customer service. I felt like I was back at an elementary school trip and it took the fun out of the experience.

This small museum is a gem! The artwork is amazing, with the murals (and Rembrandt!) really catching one's eye. I was lucky enough to attend the celebration for National British Tea Day, which was lovely.

As indicated, we returned to the Taft and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Impressive to have a Rembrandt, some Whistlers and the portrait of Robert Louis Stevenson by John Singer Sargent. Some lovely Chinese pieces, and I especially enjoyed the Duncanson murals - can't believe someone would cover them up! Thank you for an enjoyable afternoon.
