Wonderful selection of dishes. Our selections were very good in flavor. Service was a bit spotty.
This restaurant in Hillsboro offers an authentic Japanese dining experience, boasting sushi of comparable size and quality to that found in Japan or other parts of Asia, unlike the typical sushi portions in the USA. I savored the sashimi, sushi, tempura, and grilled hamachi cheek, perfectly complemented by ample servings of beer and sake. The freshness of the fish surprised me, particularly the standout otoro sushi, where the rich flavor of the fish melded beautifully with the rice and sake. A must-visit for anyone craving Japanese cuisine in this area, with attentive service and a delightful ambience to top it off!
Came in for a placed order and brought coins, a female staff member who was about to ring me up and saw the coins - despite me telling her exactly how much I was giving her in total, felt the need to say "Is that all you have? You don't have bills?" And I said, "Yep, that's all I have." And then she went to go supposedly count the coins with another female staff member at a different counter, and I could see them laughing with each other like they were so annoyed I brought coins. Then, after about 8 minutes, the lady comes back and tells me to have a good day. I told her I still owed them 45 cents, to which she replied, "Oh, I didn't count all that." I do enjoy the food here, but them acting like I'm such an inconvenience for bringing coins is so off-putting. Don't bother coming here unless you have a card because they can't be bothered to count money- even though that's part of running a business...
Syun Izakaya still has the best sushi on the West side.
I usually only visit during lunch hours, their specials are great.
Got told it’d be a 45 min wait. Waited and called to check our status. Guy said it would be 45 mins more.. ya I know there’s other people on the list bro! You should have said it be a 2 hour wait from the beginning!
A hidden gem tucked away is a neighborhood. Family owned, great sushi.
Great food and atmosphere.
