Sushiya Express

This is a small Japanese restaurant. And they do some of Korean food too. We ordered several dishes. All of the dishes , which we ordered, were very good.

Such a great gem. One of my favorite restaurants in Iv. The staff is so friendly and kind and the restaurant itself is so clean and the ambiance is great. Love having a sushi place in this town!!

It’s hard to find Korean food so I wanted to try their tteokbokki, unfortunately I was calling to ask if it’s vegan and I had to talk to two people and it was clear they spoke 0 English I had a very hard time speaking to them they could not answer any of my questions, I could not understand them at all or them either, customer service not very good.

This was such a surprise, didn't expect this in Isla Vista but this place has excellent sushi rolls. The service is great but the rolls were even better.

Unpleasant service and food. Managers were shouting at the server in front of all the customers. The so called ‘family-owned’ restaurant treats their server like this. Very disappointed.

The miso ramen is great!

Went to Sushiya in July while moving my daughter to near Santa Barbara area. The food was amazing and so tasty that we basically left the plates clean. But to our surprise when the owner found out my daughter was moving there by herself she offered her cell number in case she ever needed any help or have questions about anything. This was such a heartwarming gesture that we felt so grateful. Warm hearted owner with compassion for others no wonder the food tasted so good.

Food is the lowest sushi quality I've seen in my life! Also some of the most expensive too. ppl are nice though! Great I'f your a college kid that has no clue what good food tastes like!

The absolute best sushi and service you could ask for! The owners are incredibly friendly and all the dishes are a great size and incredibly tasty, they definitely use top quality ingredients. This is the go to place if you are in the area.

Yummy sushi and tempura veggies. It was very busy when I ordered. Waited a little longer than expected. But the food was delicious and worth the wait.

I loved the tonkatsu here and they had delicious dango !! It was such a yummy meal so I’m definitely coming again soon!!
