** CUSTOM PICKUP ORDERS ONLY, NO WALK INS** Sunshine Bakery was opened by John and Grable Valadez in 1977. For 40 years, the couple provided fresh donuts, delicious Mexican pastries, and beautiful custom cakes for San Antonio's East Side. In 2017, the bakery was closed for renovations and daily operations were turned over to their granddaughter, Kayla Matta. Kayla, an artist and owner of the neighboring Pan Dulce Gallery, reopened Sunshine Bakery in 2018 with a new building and elevated menu offering espresso and vegan options. At any given time, you can find one of our family members working behind the counter, so come say hi!
