Sundara Indian Restaurant & Cafe

Excellent food, but please update Google maps! I just walked 20 minutes from my hotel to eat dinner here only to discover it’s permanently closed due to moving locations. :-(

10 STAR MEAL!!!! If you want Indian food and your in the Arlington area it’s time to go over to Sundara!!!

We were super confused when Google Maps brought us to a VFW, but we peeked inside because we could smell the food in the parking lot and are so happy we did! We tried 5 different dishes, an appetizer, naan, raita, and mango lassi. Everything was absolutely amazing. We have eaten Indian food all across America, in several Asian countries (not India though), and in Europe. This is it. We loved EVERYTHING. I'm new to this part of America, so I cannot tell you if the prices vs portion size are fair, but we liked it enough we know we'll be back. The service was great, there was ample parking, and plenty of seating.

This is the best Indian food in the area. Hands down. I love it so much I dream about it. Unfortunately, they recently discontinued their delivery options on all platforms and website, and the restaurant is fairly out of the way nestled into a small neighborhood. I formally and publicly beg for some kind of reinstatement, or I will be unable to taste their delicious korma quite so often. Don’t get me wrong — 1000% patronize this restaurant if at all possible! Again, more than amazing food. Wish it were more accessible.

This hidden gem shares a space with the veterans center. The flavor is on another level. While I’ve never been one to crave Indian food, this changed it all. Try the samosas and chicken tikka masala. 🤤

The food was good, but we expected a greater quantity. I understand that they had a busy schedule ,but there could’ve been less of a wait time. On the other hand, we appreciate the friendliness of the waiter and quality of the food. To sum it up, it was a pretty good experience.😀😀
