Best lobster roll ever!!!!! Everything we had here was perfect. Highly recommend.
The iconic Bar Harbor lobster pound, being right in the heart of downtown. Tons of seating to accommodate large crowds, although we went in October and it felt positively sparse. Beautiful view of the docks from the downstairs pier-level dining room. We ordered the Cajun peel-and-eat shrimp and they positively flew out of the kitchen; the cooks are well-drilled for fast turnover, although there’s never pressure from the staff to clear tables. Had my first-ever whole lobster, which was an experience unto itself. Pricing is “Maine vacation”, though on par with others nearby, so just be ready. If you’re vacationing on MDI, you’re likely going to hit up a lobster pound at some point, and this one is a worthy choice.
Tourist restaurants, you're going to pay tourist prices. If you're looking for the same thing, but cheaper, just drive a bit further off the island for a fraction of the cost. Blueberry pie was more like a blueberry jam, no blueberries other than the ones put in the dollop of cream. The lobster roll barely contained lobster, yet you're charged market prices. The fries. . . Oh boy, the fries. Should be called Stewmans Fries. They taste identical to the beer battered fries you can get in the supermarket. Worth visiting for the experience alone, but after that, you will have no reason to go back.
Higher prices than many of the other comparable spots in BH (lobster roll was $5-15 higher), staff forgot about us at the table, subpar food that tasted like frozen aisle fare. Massive disappointment all around. Check out Geddys or one of the pizza joints instead.
Lobster rolls are too expensive and ot great! Wish I'd gotten tge Lobster dinner.
