Station Hotel - Penrith

We arrived to be told there was no food amenities due to a staff emergency. Ok, so disappointed, but we'll live checked the room to find it tired, but OK. The main worry for us with 2 kids was it looked like the door was forced open at something and had been very poorly fixed but it did not seem secure or safe with missing door frame. But we came back with dogs as pet friendly was the main decider on this accommodation to be stopped abruptly by the female bar staff member stating she didn't believe dogs were allowed and she left us waiting as she called the manager. She then reappeared, stating it was OK provided we pay for cleaning ( this is usually expected but at time of booking) cash or card now was demanded. I asked what if we'd actually prefer to cancel given the fact there was no breakfast on site, the room was less than ideal and additional payments of this kind was not usual and was met with a smug answer of its a 24hr cancellation policy. Checkmate. So we stayed but will not be back. Rude staff is never OK.

Been to Penrith number of times and always passed this place never looks the part,,called in had a drink very nice probably try the food next time

Just visited for a drink before catching train so location was good staff very nice and friendly.

Had a last minute meal before getting the train. New ownership are making this a clean pleasant experience. All freshly cooked and good size portions.
