Unfortunately I have ordered from this Starbucks 5 times and only 2 of those times I received at least part of my order…eventually. The other 3 times, they ran out of stock of what I ordered and just didn’t say anything. Two of these times I waited almost an hour before asking about my order in which they basically said- yeah were out of that you have to go back on line and order something else…one of those times the girl behind the counter (who is always there and is very nice but overwhelmed) said- yeah we’re not making Frappuccino’s. That would have been nice to know before waiting 45 minutes for the one I ordered. Another time they ran out of everything and refunded me. When I went there to ask what I could get, they said they were out of all food and could only make iced tea or shaken espressos lol. They seem chronically understaffed, understocked and like they have a really hard time managing online orders. Someone’s gotta manage this better or maybe add another Starbucks on campus since it seems to be so popular? Needless to say I give up trying to ever order from here again after having a negative experience almost every time.
The drinks are okay but the baristas need to stop racially profiling me. THREE times now have they insisted that a drink or food item is mine or gotten annoyed with me for not taking it because there's an Asian name on it and I happen to be Asian. I get that they need to get drinks out off the shelves, but when they insist that I'm just not hearing them correctly and I'M the one who's wrong (as if I wouldn't know my own name), it gets annoying and feels gross.
The worst part is that after waiting 15 minutes for one drink it's always made wrong! I order the same drink everytime (mocha frapp with a shot) and yet each time it's made differently. Some days it's full of unblended syrup and cream, it could just take like water or espresso (no mocha flavor), and just recently it had remnants of an apple flavor, meaning the employees are not washing/sanitizing correctly. I understand that this location is typically understaffed and staffed mainly by students, but the total lack of consistency and food safety is concerning.
I'm a student at UAlbany and needed a dessert/pick-me-up. The espresso machine was down when I went and they only had cold drinks. I'm not a frequent Starbucks customer and I didn't know what sizes you can get for every drink. I was about to get a smaller size and then I was told I could get the BIG one! The employee was patient with my ignorance. I got a Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappe and between the brain freezes it was like heaven. Or whatever equivalent you believe in. Or maybe you don't believe in an afterlife...it just tastes great, alright. GREAT!
idiotic place can’t even be bothered to update their hours on Google. Took a massive detour as this was the only place open. Had to cross an entire university parking lot and walk half a mile in the building only to find it closed. Ridiculous!
