Great place Great food Just live the customer service as it’s really great
Didn't eat, but a great pub in a lovely village. Not a plastic pub, it has visitors and plenty of locals giving a friendly happy atmosphere. Love the 'after work' club
This pub looked so cosy from the outside, with the nice lighting and traditional building. We were put off a bit when we found that it was quiz night, but this was just ending. We’d been driving for hours and were hungry, so we wanted a decent dinner. We ordered two sharing platters, which were expensive but took our fancy. What arrived was passable, but there wasn’t much of it. About five vinegary olives, some bits of bread, a thimble of salad, a doll’s house size bowl of this, a midget’s pot of that. It would have been ok for a tenner, but nearly £18 a plate for this array of bits and bobs!!??! What a joke. The staff weren't at all interested in whether our food was ok. Perhaps come here for a pint but eat elsewhere.
We had a wonderful lunch. The waiter who took our order was really helpful and the other waitress was brilliant- polite and efficient. Lunch was delicious. The only thing that I would say is it felt a little tight for space at some tables but there were a few wheelchair users who found it a bit difficult to manoeuvre. This would be easily rectified and didn't affect our lunch, just something to keep in mind.
Traditional pub recently refurbished. Lovely vegetarian option for Easter Sunday lunch. Very personable service although they forgot our pudding, they were so nice about it that it really didn’t matter. Everyone enjoyed their food. Easy parking. Dogs allowed. Perfect after a long walk at Upton House. Vegetarian options: Un nut roast which was a seed version of a nut roast and very tasty
Very friendly and good food
Booked a table. Arrived, parking awful. Waited over 20 minutes for all the team & servers to literally ignor us, even though we had a booking! And waited at the appropriate place. It wasn't that busy, tables free. Awful experience, so we left never to return.
Limited menu but a lovely place to eat and the food was excellent Parking: Directly opposite the pub.
Food excellent but portion size to small for the price
