Unfortunately, having ordered what we thought to be 5 buffet meals we had extra charges on the bill. The king prawns were like rubber and the onions bhaji had been cremated. Staff were rude and impatient when taking the order and especially rude when I asked about the extra charges. 'The extra charges are your own fault for not reading the menu properly and people get offended when they are told they're making a mistake'. Our 3 children were asked individually what drink they would like, after having asked for water. The waiter then said a second jug of water would be £15 and turned his back. The last time we ate here was 2 years ago and 3 us were ill the next day. This time only 2 of us were ill. So a slight improvement. We won't be returning to this restaurant!
Was told to give this place a try by someone I know. Incredible food, and by far the best I've ever had from an Indian. Won't be going anywhere else now and can highly recommend
Seven of us went for the Banquet Night recently and it was superb, two were children who were very well looked after. Everything we ordered was delicious. Enough that we all were able to have bits from all the platters including our personal main courses. Food was hot and very tasty as always. Staff were attentive and fun without being over the top. Thoroughly enjoyed a great evening out. So pleased we have this gem of a restaurant on our doorstep. Kid-friendliness: The adults had the Banquet selection and the two children had from the main menu. The ordering could have been awkward with so much to choose from but the waiter ensured the children were taken care of without any problems.
What an amazing experience myself and the family have had tonight at the spice of India. The service was fantastic, food was incredible and we shared a lot of laughs and joy. Thank you
Staff are always very friendly and accommodating. Great food that's consistently delicious.
If you're looking for a place to eat where the staff is warm & welcoming - this ISN'T it!!! We've been here twice now. The 1st time we gave them the benefit of the doubt as it was a large party, but the 2nd time there was only 5 of us. The food is mediocre at best. The waiters are surly & behave as if they're doing you a favour to be serving you. One in particular is definitely in the wrong job. I get that English probably isn't his 1st language, but that doesn't give him the right to be rude to diners.
Last night was my first time experience at Spice of India and I have to say, it was exceptional superb. From the excellent quality of food, to the friendly staff and the calming atmospheric environment, I would recommend this restaurant for a good curry.
Excellent food, been here a few times and never disappointed.
Tikka with prawns clearly overcooked. Shrunk too much and looked like there's not many of them. Hard like hell. I was really happy for this takeaway this evening. What a disappointment.
