Speedo's Harborside Pub & Grill

Went in for breakfast Sunday morning @ 10am. zero wait and many open tables..which was a little odd since all other breakfast places had a 30 minute wait. Our server was great and we had an amazing view of the lake. The food is where the problem is. I owned a restaurant and i can taste old cooking oil. I can guarantee that if they let me look at their fryers the oil would have been black. My $18 Ranchero breakfast was no more than 2 deep fried hash browns with 1 egg over it and a melted slice of pepper jack cheese. i could not even eat it sure to the awful taste of the fryer oil. i wish i took a picture of it. I was sick on the drive home from this breakfast . i would skip this place and wait the 30 minutes at any other place in the area.

Terrible place. Don’t waste a meal at “Speedos”. They don’t need to even try to serve edible food, or behave decently, because they survive from one-time tourist customers. No one would ever return for more abuse. I had first asked about the cod sandwich, and was told it was two pieces on a bun. The salmon burger was described to be even better, and a fairly good size, so I went with it. What arrived was an old, dry, smelly, patty which didn’t even come close to filling the bun. It reminded me of 1980’s vending machine food in college at Circle Campus (UIC). I actually thought the nice waitress served me the wrong order, so when I asked her about it, a large waiter replaced her to bully me. The demeaning waiter let me know that I had interpreted the menu wrong, and was free to order something different if I didn’t like what I ordered. This was NOT in place of the salmon, but in ADDITION to it. Since my friend’s burger was awful, It would be rather foolish of me to order (and pay for) a third entree in hopes that I would be served something decent to eat. The owner was sitting by the door, so on the way out I stopped to let him know that folks would be happier if he, and his staff, would correctly describe the food, so that customers would know what to expect. He proceeded to openly berate me and told me that “I was at fault for not understanding the difference between a “sandwich” and a "burger ". So beware, ….this is not a place to put out $17-$18 for a sandwich or burger.

Great little pub. I stopped in for a drink and lunch. I recommend the Grecian Chicken Sandwich. It's delicious. One of the best Chicken sandwiches I've had in a while. The rest of the menu is good too. Cold tasty beer and drinks, overlooking the lake. Cool little place. They have hand dipped ice cream and are happy to serve to go cocktails. Next time you're in lake Geneva, stop in.

We always enjoy the food in the service when we go there. Beautiful view of the Lake. Speedos and staff are nice, stop by and see them.

Stopped in for lunch while strolling around downtown Lake Geneva. Had a good ol Wisconsin brat, with a Modelo on tap. Good stuff
