They have Gluten Free Bagels and every Tuesday is Gluten Free Cinnamon Roll Day (this just started). They are fantastic! So excited to have this option. Cinnamon rolls are prepackaged by a local baker (Nanny Bees) and safe. This week they were also dairy free and although I am NOT DF I could not tell and they were so yummy! Dietary restrictions: They have celiac safe, Gluten free and dairy free options on certain days
Sorry, wanted to like them given all the rave reviews but these are a no for me. Grew up in Brooklyn and had excellent NY bagels when I lived in the DC area. These have a texture much closer to bread than bagels. Not dense enough, too soft. Also very salty. I wondered if they were actually boiled. I'll keep looking for a good bagel in Lexington.
My son ordered a sausage, egg, and cream cheese bagel on a brioche bagel. It was hot and fresh, I could see the steam coming from it as he enjoyed it. The service was great and I love the cozy atmosphere. I am glad this shop is part of my neighborhood!
1 st visit. Menu pics with prices are out dated. $8 for egg & bacon, not the $6 shown here. I agree with another reviewer -that these are very good sandwiches on fancy bread. These are not new york style bagels. Flavored cream cheese on bacon & egg sandwich was delicious.
I never leave reviews but i’m obsessed with this place. i’ve been looking for a good, relatively cheap bagel since magee’s closed and this is the place. really cute but small shop inside, great location & probably the best bagels in lex. i got half a dozen day old bagels for only $6!!! their everything bagels are a must try, and get it with butter. i know everyone is recommending their cream cheese but i think its actually better with butter
I have given this place chance after chance because I want them to be great but if I have to list all the horrible things they have done we’d be here all day. The service is horrible. I tried to call ahead they asked if they could put me on a “brief hold” and I said of course. I started driving there and after 30 minutes I’m still on hold and I arrive just to have them take my order in person wait another 30 minutes for them to mess up my order. An allergen was apart of the mistake too which is a big no no for my dad in the icu rn. They finally refunded and remade it thankfully but what a waste of time this morning. This was just this mornings occurrence there have been several others. I genuinely still root for them to work on their service & management because I do want them to do well but the experience just always leans negative with this place. Update: I get to the hospital and the entire meal is incorrect. Then I call them and they hang up on me.
Probably the most kind and generous owners and employees I have ever met. I’m very happy to share a neighborhood with Southland Bagel!
