Very good customer service and food. The atmosphere was peaceful and very clean. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner and he's so down to earth. The catfish is a must!!!!
From the moment I walked in the owner greeted me and made the experience personal. The food is always hot and fresh. The restaurant is always clean and the food never takes longer than it should when it’s being prepared. I’ve always had amazing service and have never regretted lunch at any of the SOCO locations. Big shoutout to the SOCO team for always going the extra mile to make sure the quality of food and service is top tier. Kid-friendliness: I always see parents with their kids at this location. It never looks like it’s an inconvenience. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to enter, sit and leave.
It was the best louisiana food that I've had that's not in louisiana everything was perfect 100 out of a 100 hands down I will b going back b4 I go back home to louisiana can't say enough good things about this place the people r nice and made me feel at home I definitely recommend this place to everyone who had louisiana food and never had louisiana food it will b a great Experience
This was my first time eating at this restaurant which I thought would have ended in a wonderful date night with my spouse. The food was horrible. The Gumbo base tasted like chili, The catfish was over fried and hard the batter was a thick cornmeal and pepper not to mention they were the size of small chicken strips. The Cajun Carb fries was very dry and overly salty. This is an insult to southern food particularly Louisiana cuisine. Disgusting
Quick service. Much to choose from, so go with a group to try a little of everything. Offers a military discount. Definitely will be back to get a taste of NOLA.
Passed by the place by accident and was glad we ordered some for pickup. Mac and cheese was delicious, pasta still had a bite to them, not just mush. Cornmeal breading on catfish was tasty and catfish po'boy order was packed without tomatoes, as requested. Crab fries was tasty too, full of shredded real crabmeat with cajun fries at the bottom. Shrimps were fully peeled for the 50/50 order. Not a fan of the hush puppies, the crispyness was yumm but the inside just tastes like cornmeal. Would love to try their beignets if we're in the area on a Sunday. Edit: A year later, still our go-to spot when we're in the area. Tried their blackened shrimp and grits, was not disappointed, absolutely yummy. Husband enjoyed his fried chicken sandwich, it's a generous 2 pieces of chicken in the sandwich.
Great food great people always on point.
We are from Louisiana and we love Southern Comfort Kitchen in Pleasant Hill. Gotta go here! We met the owner Brett (great guy) who is from Louisiana his family moved when he was 4. They have a second place in Castro Valley and 2 food trucks. I get the fried oysters all the time. And the gumbo is amazing!! And you have to love Brett’s, New Orleans Saints T-shirt pretty cool!! I just noticed it when I saw the picture I posted! They even have Muffulettas!!!
