Food was good but the evening was ruined when the hostess came to our table and basically asked us to leave. ( yes it was a Saturday night and crowded but we had a reservation!) We had been there an hour and a half and we still had wine in our glasses. Not cool.
We discovered a fantastic dining spot during our trip to New Haven. The cuisine was exceptional, with tapas surpassing our dinner choice. We opted for the mushroom soup and a Sausage Platter featuring buffalo, wild boar, rabbit, sriracha, aioli sausage, accompanied by fries, which we left. The steak tartare with a quail egg and creme fraiche was one of the best I've had in a long time. The duck with butternut squash was outstanding, and for dinner, I tried the fruta de Mare risotto—though the risotto resembled more of a paella rice. Overall, the experience was delightful, with excellent service, making it a place we would revisit.
Cons: All high top seating which is uncomfortable. Served us stale bread. Pros: Great service Great Food Appetizers (meatballs and squash blossoms) were 5/5. Entrées bolognese and tagliatelle were very very good.
My wife and I came here for date night. We loved the ambiance, but it was terribly cold inside the front room of the restaurant. This could have been because it was 10 degrees outside, but I do feel like something should be done to ensure heat is focused in the front dining room. The service was great. I have nothing bad to say about that aspect of the restaurant. We enjoyed the Mediterranean lamb chops and the surf and turf for dinner. The surf and turf was very tasty, I asked for my lamb chips to be cooked medium, but they were rarer than I wanted. Other than that, we enjoyed our dining experience. We also had the duck spring rolls, which were amazing and the half dozen oyster, which were very fresh and tasty. The drinks were very tasty as well, BTW. Great place for a girls' night or date night. We would go back to try more items on the menu. I gave an overall 4 stars because of how cold it was in the restaurant.
We have often ordered take out from this restaurant and everything is delicious. We particularly like the steak tartar, the eggplant burrata, the branzini and the duck. It’s nice having smaller portions with the tapas selection to enjoy the variety of several dishes. We have yet to go in person, but look forward to soon.
One of the best dining experiences of my life. My cousins and I met here on vacation. Julio, our waiter, was extremely attentive without being intrusive. He had great recommendations and knew the menu without looking. Fantastic cocktails were flowing. 4 amazing appetizers. The grilled Octopus and exotic sausage plate steamed clams and calamari were fantastic. We were there for 3 hours and well taken care of. Amazing experience. When I visit New Haven again i will definitely go back. Also validated both of our parki g tickets at the garage across the street saving us $32. Nice touch South Bay!! The entrees were great as well. Check this place out if you are a foody like myself.
My wife and I decided to dine here because we were looking for lunch with a side of oysters. I've been eating raw oysters for years and have visited many oyster restaurants around the world. This is the first time I ever spat out an oyster and returned the plate. My wife also complained about the taste. The server was very apologetic and nixed the oysters from our check. The remainder of the meal was great. My wife had a chicken wrap and fried calamari while I had the Caesar salad. Both were quite good.
We plan to try everything on their menu.
