Used to be one of my fav spots but you can tell there’s been an overall negative shift. Price for a shisha is $45 which is outrageous especially considering how minimal it is in flavor. My go to food wise is the mussels which are a really good deal, and arguably what keep bringing me back. As a single person here, I had to flag down servers multiple times and was forced to repeat my requests (new coal, extra silverware, etc). The actual setup of the lounge area is beautiful which is what redeems the terrible customer service. If you come here be prepared to chase down employees for help. One of the servers incorrectly gave me a Sunday happy hour menu on a Saturday so I had to deal with awkwardly switching up my order when a different server arrived. My bill came out to over $100 for me alone.
Food was excellent though portions were questionable
This place had a nice vibe and a seemingly good menu. It is a hookah joint so be prepared for that. The reason for the low rating is I had two interactions that were incredibly unpleasant. We just stopped in to split a couple entrées, we had ordered a beef, entrée and chicken skewers. When the entrées came out, one of them was sliders, which is not what we ordered. I politely asked the Food Runner for a menu to make sure we did not make a mistake, and Yeah she rolled her eyes and grabbed a menu, she then told me “this is basically the same thing to just eat it.” (It was not, I did not order sliders). I asked kindly for the item we ordered and she walked off. Our Server came by and said that the food would be a while, I figured this would be 10 to 15 minutes but 30 minutes went by and we still hadn’t got her other entrée. At this point it was getting late so I asked the Server if he please wouldn’t mind just cashing us out for the skewers. The server seemed very angry, clenched his jaw and walked away and took about 10 minutes to bring the check which he tossed onto the table in front of me. Having worked in service I know it can get stressful on a Friday night but we were kind and simply just wanted what we ordered. I was shocked how rude the staff was. Wouldn’t recommend coming here.
At Soussi, you'll find great music, wonderful drinks, and even better people. The bartender, Cassandra, was down to earth and the regulars make you feel like a friend. I'll definitely stop by should I ever pass through again. PS: Read Irving Stone
Excellent hookah (always smooth), good drinks, and genuinely good food, way better than you would expect from a hookah bar. Also don't skip the mint tea, I order it every time. ❤️
