Very nice atmosphere at this new seafood fusion restaurant. Nice selection of wine and cocktails. Food was good and full of flavor. I had a chicken dish over pasta with a very nice sauce. I actually ordered an iced tea and I was surprised that they did not have unsweet tea because I like to mix with sweet. Instead they brought out a plastic bottle of tea. I found that strange but all in all I want to go back and try some of their other dishes including the oysters
Our waitress was amazing, the place is very nice. As far as the food... it's fancy Peruvian, but not as good as what we've has before. For me, it was a one time visit.
My Daughter and I was in Gainesville and discovered this amazing place! We walked in and was in awe of the spectacular ambiance, matched with a very clean environment. The greeter at the door to the floor staff didn’t fall short on CUSTOMER CARE!!!!!! The food….. yes that’s why I’m here I’m not disappointed at all that our money wasn’t wasted! Our meal was worth every penny spent and had leftovers for lunch which is so good right now!!!! I wanted Dessert but had no room but I will next time! Thanks Staff
Came on a Saturday afternoon, the atmosphere was very calm, quiet, and soothing. I guess everyone was just waiting and getting charged up for Saturday nights! Disclosure: from Lima, Peru, so while there are a couple Peruvian places we will go in a pinch, most are just not THE ONE for flavor, experience, etc. Some say the bar has been set too high and there's a need to chill, but... Soco South was hands down amazing. Let's start with the ceviche (we did). Enough kick in the Leche de Tigre without overdoing it. Good, fresh, firm seafood. Accompanied by the proper sides that most never serve (but are vital if it's going to be like Peru) How good is the causa? I don't like causa... I ate half of the causa. Really. Honestly, the first causa in the US I have ever had more than just a bite of. The Lomo Saltado is pretty much indescribable. Fried yellow potatoes rather than French Fries, a rice that I would have eaten multiple bowls of by itself, and perfectly cooked, high-quality beef. That says everything... Picarones are also not a favorite of mine, but I ate my share and even dueled with spoons over the syrup! Only thing I can fault right now is that it isn't closer to the house. But, on second thought, that's probably a good thing. Watch for us, we will be back soon!
