My cousin and I were delighted to stop at Sneyd Arms on a drive and a catch up. I had previously visited on a weekend when this place was heaving with customers, but on this Wednesday lunchtime it was relatively quiet. We enjoyed a special offer of two sandwiches for £20 which was a bargain as both our delicious, hot sandwiches came with the most delicious, home made chips, coleslaw and a varied and colourful salad. Stacey, who looked after us, was just lovely and it was a pleasure to meet her and to visit this historical pub. I am looking forward to returning with my partner in the near future.

It was 2 for 1 offer pie night. We ordered a steak pie and the fish pie. Chips were beautiful. The steak pie was packed with nice steak chunks and the gravy was nice and tasty. The fish pie was a let down. The menu stated cod and haddock. However, there was no mention of prawns. Not allergic (thanksfully) but really don't get on with prawns. If there had been one or two that's ok but there were loads. We like our veg al dente but on both it was seriously under cooked. We will consider eating there again but no fish pie and a meal without veg will be ordered. Such a shame as it is a lovely place.

We visited for Pie Night. I had the steak and ale pie and my partner had the veggie pie which is more like a cottage pie. Both were delicious and came in their own oven tin dishes. The steak pie had a good amount of meat inside and the gravy was tasty. My partner said she liked the veggie pie and would have it again! The homemeade chips were gorgeous and the veg was nice, if a tad under-cooked but not by much. The meals each came with a small gravy jug and that gravy was lovely too. We drank Cruzcampo lager which is our favourite but the price here is a bit expensive and at the top end of what you would pay. The downside to the visit was the 35 minute waiting time, but we were told the pub's main oven was broken and they were relying on a smaller one. We'll forgive the waiting time as the food was so nice and we'll definitely visit again for 2-4-1 Pie Night

Mothering Sunday 2024 The positives: - greeted by a lovely lady & given a bunch of daffodils, nice touch - clean cutlery, food served on hot plates - no issues with drinks orders - steak pie was good (no suggestion of Stilton however), as was the vegetarian pie The sad negatives: - long waits for food after order - only 2 starters from 3 delivered - mushrooms looked unappetising being served in a thin, grey sauce and tasting very sour - pie & mash arrived as pie & chips, starter finally arrived with vegetarian main & when cod mornay arrived it had roasted potatoes instead of chips, a melted cheese topping rather than a cheese and spinach sauce, overcooked fish & burnt green veg All in all, not the lovely celebration it was meant to be, especially having driven from Leicester & having heard such great things about this place. In their defence, a large part of the bill was deducted, and I feel for the lovely lady who served us, I just hope her day got better. The place itself is very tired and in need of some tlc, especially the toilets.

beautiful old pub, with delicious food that my friend and i enjoyed, we loved the atmosphere. we work in hospo so we know how exhausting it can be working in a pub, but the girls that served us were radiant, we got two of their names (elise and katie), but there were three women working there that treated everyone to a smile!!! would go again and again and again, very worth every penny
