I’ve bought frozen perogies from Shumka and I’ve ordered their take out through skip the dishes, and I’ve always had an excellent meal. They sell 5 dozen frozen perogies for $25 and my favorite dish so far is the nalysnyky.
Was a quick stop in for lunch and what a great surprise. The daily special was perfect! The staff was friendly, the food was a good home cooked Ukrainian meal, the atmosphere was a bit dated but made you feel like you were in Ukraine. Definitely a go to for an excellent meal or even pick up frozen to take home. Will come back!
Love this place best in the city of Edmonton the chicken is the best never mind every is good can't get enough
The food is always good little expensive but everywhere you go to eat these days seem to be
First time here, there were quite a few of us and they had enough for all, food was hot and fresh. The perogies were good on the smaller size. One piece of kubasa as a side was small and $3.75, onions were $1.00 extra, very surprised at this one, they were in a paper container the same as ketchup comes in at a fast food restaurant. Lots of parking and you can sit inside.
I was excited to have Ukrainian food again till I started ordering. I was questioning the prices and the women serving was getting annoyed with me. I finally decided on my order the lady got ruder as my experience went on. I was charged extra for toppings, and not just a buck or so. And then I was charged the extra for sour cream. The lady was extremely rude and ignorant. When I got home to eat. The food was completely bland and tasteless. I will absolutely never go back to Shumka again. I wish the owner didn't work there because I would love get this lady in trouble for her poor customer service! But unfortunately I think she is the manager or the owner
The perogies were dry and the cabbage rolls taste like pepper as well as dry. They didn’t ask or put sauce on the cabbage rolls. Shumpka has gone down hill!
