Our first time back to Ship's in a very long time. I learned that we were not missing much while we were gone. We came on a Friday night when they had a very large party upstairs, so service was in shambles. Our young server was friendly, but did disappear for long periods of time. Kitchen was painfully slow, after our soup (which came quickly), we waited almost 40 minutes for our meals which were, by no means, complicated. We ordered simple sandwiches, fish sandwich for my wife, fried oyster for me. Both were incredibly underwhelming. The oyster sandwich was literally 4 fried oysters, lightly toasted bread, wilted lettuce on the side and fries. The slow service I can chalk up to them being overwhelmed by the large crab feast upstairs. It happens. The absolutely uninspiring food though, I cannot accept in this day of high prices for dining out. I know Ship's is not trying to be Catonsville Gourmet. It is a crab house with simple seafood fare on the menu. Still, that's no excuse for not trying to make simple also delicious. It might be awhile before we return again.
