The full Yorkshire Breakfast! No need to eat for the rest of the day.
We visited Shibden mill recently and we can’t wait to go back! We stayed for one night and had dinner, bed and breakfast. We had the petite double and the room was great. As per the description it was petite, but still plenty of room for both to move about getting ready. The room was clean with plenty of services provided, iron, tea service, full sized wardrobe, tv, gowns, toiletries and even some fresh chocolate chip cookies! The food, well it was all stunning. We opted for nibbles instead of starters. The focaccia was a thick doorstop wedge but really soft and tasty accompanied by the chicken fat butter, it was delicious. I think the standout though was the sausage meat and olive balls, would have gladly ordered another portion of these. For mains we shared the Beef rib and had the recommended wine to go with it; and it was a great choice. The beef was cooked perfectly and there wasn’t one thing on the plate that didn’t belong there, I’m not a mushroom fan but the Welsh rarebit mushroom was too tasty for me not to finish as well! After a little break we finished with a cheese board, we went for 3 cheeses which was just enough for a small nibble each between the 2 of us. Breakfast the next morning was equally standout. There was a good selection of cereal, pastries and fruit to chose from. My partner loved the Emma’s special museli! I would recommend the Full Yorkshire breakfast, eggs were cooked perfectly to our liking, the homemade sausage was full of flavour and the black pudding was a nice little treat. The staff were really friendly and chatty and they couldn't do enough for you. Upon check out we received a mini box of chocolates as a thank you when really i think it should have been us providing these as a thank you for our great stay! Overall it was a great place to stay and dine and we can't wait to visit again.
From arrival to departure everything was tip top. Comfortable rooms, welcoming staff, great beer, excellent food, large selection of wine followed by a peaceful nights sleep. Breakfast served in the residents dining room had a wide choice, but I can never turn down a full English. Well done to all.
Amazing country pub, we stayed over for the wife’s birthday and had a fabulous time. The staff are fantastic and can’t do enough for you, great selection of local craft beers, room was gorgeous, and the food was some of the best we have had. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back.
What a gem, full of character and in a lovely location. We stayed over and had drinks, an a la carte dinner and breakfast. The rooms (4&8) were cosy and the beds were comfortable - lovely large showers! Dinner - absolutely gorgeous the hogget was a personal favourite. Also, special mention to the wine (we had 4 bottles!) Breakfast - excellent quality ingredients and plenty of choice. I've never had such tasty bacon. The service was great and whilst it wasn't cheap , there were four of us and we ate and drank everything we could wish for before having a restful sleep. Definitely worth the splurge.
