I love the atmosphere. Classic Irish pub.
The fire department needs to shut this place down! Or SERIOUSLY hinder the number of people they let in. You quite literally cannot move your body. God forbid if there was a fire, you would quickly be burnt or trampled. Within 5 minutes I wanted to leave and physically could not get my body to the exit because of how many people there were. I do not recommend this place if you are a human and not a sardine/cattle.
Saw a fight and they threw out the defendant and random bystander instead of the instigator. Pretty funny, 4 stars. Kid-friendliness: Probably not
Worst DJ of all time ever
I had the best time for my 32nd birthday going to visit Catfish Comedy at Shenanigan's Pub DC! It was my very first time actually at a comedy show in-person. It was overwhelming fun. I took pictures of like 95% of the comedians I saw that night. (Their names are caption on their pictures.) I actually arrived almost an hour after 8 p.m., because I was coming from another event a mile away. I would go again for the food and parking is great (paid parking garage available across the street.) I love the whole aesthetics of the place ☘️ and the food I loved, def 1-3 leftovers if you buy a bunch of stuff. It's awesome to help celebrate your Celtic heritage as well, so I'm glad I could support them. I'd suggest a friend/family visit. Keep up the diverse events and hosting. It looks like the events have stretched almost a decade! Parking: There is street parking available and a paid garage available ️ (across the street) which accepts debit/credit cards only. The rates are steep they might as well charge the 2-hr rate as the daily rate! The machine doesn't do tap to pay well, so card insertion is the charge method (I know stupid right but that's just that machine.) Kid-friendliness: This is a pub/restaurant that serves alcohol, so it's not an establishment for kids. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is wheelchair accessible only for the downstairs unless there's an escalator in the building to transport anyone who wants to use it, I am not sure how getting to the second floor could occur. There are stairs that lead to the second floor (the event floor?)
Visited on NYE, entry at $20 per person. Decent crowd, friendly bartender. However, disappointed with the music – played from YouTube, and they turned it off at 1:40. Overall, an okay experience, but music could be improved.
Crowded and unmaneuverable
Was physically assaulted by the bouncer working at 8 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2024. He needs to be fired. He’s lucky I didn’t press charges.
Typical college/dive bar. This isn’t to say it’s bad, just a younger crowd. Gets super crowded on Fridays and Saturdays with the $10 open bar. Music is definitely catered to the gen z/college kid crowd. Definitely a fun place if that’s the vibe you’re looking for and probably the best deal on drinks in the city.
