Shari's Cafe and Pies

This place has gone downhill drastically in the last couple of years. From the outside it looks like an abandoned building and the inside isn't much better.

Sierra was incredible tonight, she was the only one we saw working front of house at dinnertime on a Saturday, and she did amazing juggling all the tables she had, as well as seating new ones regularly. Her attitude was so bright, even if a few of the tables seemed grumpy from the moment they sat down. She made the meal such a good experience, despite the fact we wished she had extra coverage for all the tables she was handling

Decent and satisfying breakfast that was fairly tasty but nothing extraordinary. Service was completely unacceptable though. When a customer complains about not getting what they want, you charge them for it anyway and instead of seeking to remedy the issue you get defensive, you can start to understand how and why a classic American diner on a major, highly trafficked local city avenue that is supposed to be absolutely jam packed on a weekend brunch time slot can be eerily near empty. I heard the other one in downtown Spokane is much better, so I guess in the interest of fairness I'll give them a shot again in order to offer the opportunity for redemption in my eyes. Parking: Guaranteed unlimited parking availability because practically NO ONE was there except for vehicles of the staff!!

Kinda forgot about this place. I remember going through Shari's in the late 80's when I was in high school. The food is good, portions are good and the service is good. The prices still reasonable. This is a very good breakfast spot and they still have a very good lunch and dinner menu! If you are just looking for a really good breakfast at a reasonable price and don't care about new or unique surroundings, I would give Shari's a try. Awesome pies here too!

The frys are the best.

Food was absolutely delicious. Service was spacy. The server didn't quality check our salad as she made it, and served us wilted lettuce. Then she forgot to remove the cost of the salad before presenting the bill.

Staffing was light. Server brought food, including pancakes but we had to wait until the pancakes were practically cold before she brought syrup. Food was delicious though.
