Terrible food and service

Great food and nice people. Had a lovely time there and felt right at home.

A hidden gem! The food here is very fresh and authentic. Everything is made to order and it always tastes just a little bit different. The lady who owns it genuinely cares about her food and it shows. She's very sweet. The atmosphere might not be the nicest or most modern but that's never bothered me. Next time you're going to India gate consider the Shalimar. The food is excellent and prices are much better.

I had an absolutely delightful experience at Shalimar Restaurant in St. John's. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm hospitality that truly made me feel at home. The food was nothing short of amazing; each dish bursting with authentic Pakistani flavors and prepared with love. What made this visit truly special was the wonderful old lady of Pakistani background, who not only served us but also shared stories of her life's journey. Her dedication to the restaurant as an entrepreneur and her personal touch in cooking every dish herself added a unique charm to the place. It was not a good experience to be here, food was so average and ambience is pretty low, it’s a mixture of convenience store and restaurant. An old Lady on desk was not so polite and service was horrible.

Disgusting and small, the owner is stuck up and mean faced. She told me we dont accept USD cards whoch is a complete lie because her son even said we do. And then she said we'll take ur usd cash but 1:1 without converting, so i have to pay like 17 usd for the food and lose a lot of money, i left don't give these people business, they treated us like animals. And they're from our country.

Excellent foods and service

Quiet place. Nothing special about the atmosphere but the spinach paneer was delicious. And on a hot afternoon, the owner kindly turned on the air conditioner and gave me a table right in front of it. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free!

Mom and pop but really really good authentic Indian food. Great price!
