I rented a bike for 2 days and had a great experience with this shop. Highly recommend.
I got to Bike & Bean shortly after it opened at 8am on a Wednesday. The only reason I chose them was that they opened an hour earlier than the other shops. I was glad I ended up there. I asked about a bike I had seen available on the website and the tech told me it was available, but there was another option which I liked even better for the same price. He set up the sag perfectly for my weight. He then gave me detailed information about trails, including using different colored highlighter pens on a map to show beginner and intermediate levels. I asked him about parking, specifically the safety of their parking lot. I had a bunch of valuable equipment in my van that would be parked there all day. He assured me the lot was safe, as well as patrolled by security, and gave me a parking pass to put on my dash for the day. The bike itself turned out to be really great, well maintained and tuned well to my height and weight. The shifting was flawless and even had me wanting to upgrade my own bike once I returned home. I rode the Bell Path mainly, but also found Little Horse and hiked/biked out to Chicken Point. In my opinion, Chicken Point is mandatory for anyone interested in mountain biking in Sedona. The reason being the famous White Line. Getting there was not easy, but once I did it was well worth it. I should mention that before I saw White Line in person, I had it on my bucket list to ride it. After seeing it in person from Chicken point, there is NO WAY I would go anywhere near it. No one else attempted the White Line while I was there either, but I am glad to say I at least scoped it out. In total I did about 12 miles of riding (and hiking) and spent about 5 hours on the trails. For comparison I will mention that I mountain bike 5-6 days a week, averaging 18-25 mile rides here in California, at my normal elevation. I mention this because after 5 hours in Sedona heat and elevation and only 12ish miles, I was completely toast, and my legs were barely useable. This was exactly what I had wanted. This brings me to my advice- 1. bring water! 2. bring sunblock! Reapply it every 90 minutes! 3. wear UV protective clothing (I have plenty for my normal biking) 4. Take breaks and don’t push it too hard. I brought back the bike around 2pm and the shop was a bit busier than it had been in the morning, but the dropoff process was easy anyway. The tech inspected the bike and gave it the all clear. I had purchased the $10 insurance, but ended up not breaking anything, but it was worth it as I know that commonly broken items (levers, pedals) cost more than $10 to replace. I got a copy of the rental form with the inspection approval just to be safe. In total it cost around $91, and was worth every penny. The staff was nice, knowledgable, and helpful- even telling me about a cheap fix for my shifting on my personal bike back home. I was very happy with my experience at Sedona Bike & Bean, and will go straight back to them for my next bike rental in Sedona.
I would highly recommend this shop for renting bikes. Staff were great to deal with.
Great place! Nice people and helpful with maintaining the bike on a 3 day Mtb trip. Nice setup with coffee and other good stuff to help with the ride. My Kona full suspension performed well. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful experience renting here for our whole family. They had really nice full suspension kids bikes down to 20" at an affordable rate and were super helpful getting them fit. The adult options were also great, you can get a hardtail for $29 for two hours or a full squish for $59 for a day. I wasn't sure it would be doable to MTB in Sedona as a family without spending a fortune but Bike and bean made the dream come true! And it's an easy ride right from the shop to multiple trail options...bell Rock pathway (easier route) and slim shady (more advanced). Oh and they make a very solid cortado!!
We had a great time renting bikes from Bike and Bean! Our family of six with kids ranging from 9 years old to 18 all had a blast! The bikes were top notch and made the experience so wonderful- I had no idea the difference that a great bike makes. A must do activity for anyone looking for a fun, active experience in Sedona.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience renting a mountain bike! The support started before I even rented with responsive and insightful communication regarding their location, proximity to trails, and pedals. Picked up the bike as planned and received superior service and great information and recommendations on trails. The bike was dialed in with suspension, tire pressure and pedals enabling a great ride on the shop's recommended route. Returning the bike was super easy, and they even offered directions to avoid a wreck on the highway which saved us time returning to the hotel! Great people, great service, and a great experience!
Big high five to Bike & Bea, awesome staff, bikes, coffee, but best of all location. We were on the gravel and dirt trails within 3 minutes of pedaling away from the shop. The trails are super fun and scenic. A nice mix of greens and blues. My ten year old and I had a blast. Was the highlight of our Sedona trip.
Great full suspension bike rentals for my wife and I. We did 4-day rentals and had great quality bikes and the service was awesome. The bike shop is a 3 minute bike ride from the trailhead and the trails in Oak Creek are insane. Highly recommend Bike & Bean!
