Scott's Kitchen and Catering at Hangar 29

It’s kind of a tradition for my husband and I to go to a bbq spot when one of us flies back into KC. After seeing reviews of Scott’s Kitchen we decided to give it a try. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the aroma of smoked meat. The second thing you might notice is the owner going to each table to check on his customers and the helpful and friendly service of the staff. The good: this is solid KC bbq. We tried the sampler platter which comes with pretty much all the meats and sides. The turkey is great, smoky, tender and moist. The brisket and burnt ends are also melt in your mouth tender with great flavor. The ribs are sauced which isn’t our go to but this sauce doesn’t interfere with the flavor of the meat and they are smoked to perfection. The wings are huge and delicious (get the Alabama White Sauce!) and the ghost pepper sausage is spicy! The sides are all very good but don’t miss the cheesy potatoes and beans. They are the best! We also tried an order of breakfast tacos and they are also delicious but don’t try to eat them in your car! Prices are fair and portions are generous. The bad: we live over an hour from this place but will use any excuse to make it back in!

Great little hidden place had delicious food, the baked beans are some of the best I've ever had. They have sweet and spicy BBQ I recommend trying both. Burnt ends and pulled pork were tender and moist. I love this place.

Best barbecue in Kansas City. Highly recommend
