The food here is great, but has become a little too pricey. Yesterday we had 2 entrees and 2 glasses of wine, and the total was $120. The wine was $20/glass, and the entrees about $35 each. Parking: Parking is plentiful. Wheelchair accessibility: Am not in a chair, but I don't think there are any steps to this ground floor restaurant.
This is not the place it used to be. After 30 years of good food and reasonable prices, the fish and chips are now soggy, the batter is tasteless and the portions have shrunk. The fish chowder is nothing more than vegetable soup with a few pieces of fish floating in it...no seafood taste. Prices for everything are much too high...you can buy the same SMSF procured fish at Pavilion's Market for about half the price. I won't recommend SMSF to anyone any more. I hate to divorce them, but I must.
SMS is the best seafood market ever and I've seen many around the world tip when a seafood market smells like strong seafood probably not good this place is clean and well managed
Santa Monica Seafood is a gem. The staff in their market, to-go counter, and cafe staff are truly focused on their customers. After meeting the manager I can see why……Renny sets the bar high. Renny and his staff welcome guests with a smile as soon as you walk in and ensures all of the customers are taken care of and have a great dining experience. If you are looking for fresh great tasting seafood Santa Monica Seafood is your place, they offer a great selection of soup, salads, seafood entrees, sandwiches, etc.
