Great food, great service. I love Thai food, and this was one of the better Thai restaurants I have experienced.
Went with family for our wedding anniversary. We were vegan and requested them not to add fish sauce in any of the curry. They exactly did add that in one of the curry; when we asked, they refused it. But I can smell it clearly either it was made of fish sauce or made in the same pan without cleaning it properly. The issue is not the fish smell on our entry but the extremely rude behavior of a female server. She was extremely rude and defensive and unpleasant. Kind of ruined the night; we ended up getting dinner at the nearby Moe's. Vegetarian options: They have a list of vegetarian option. But I would go to any other franchise of this restaurant not to this.
Our senior invited two of us to celebrate the last semester of the medical school. We have had dinners at the our favourite Williamsville location more than 20 times. And just on 1/16, we had a humiliating experience from a possibly new recruit male server. Our senior preordered a few dishes to surprise us, and took care of the bill and because it was a snow day, we thought of ordering more food to take home. Our usual veg tempura’s were oozing out oil, and sizzler’s were not served as sizzler’s. When we showed our concern to our server, he shrugged his shoulders and said may be the ‘chef is in rush’. We ignored and focused on our rest of the food as it had to be celebration. Then, a different server brought us bills, and I personally rounded it off, and didn’t feel to tip. Being myself a service provider, I expected he will ask for a feedback. But, strangely, he came in asking for 15-20% tip with an agitation and insulted us. When my friend went to him to share why we didn’t tip, he started yelling and pointing finger at me that I just rounded off. We tried to explain we’re not new, and it’s not usual, but his body language was very intimidating and aggressive. Frankly, it was highly unprofessional of him. After trying so hard to not leave with a sad experience, we had to leave. Definitely, the chef has changed, and the servers too. He is absolutely not a good fit for service and hospitality. I’m not sure if my review will be deleted, but the management should consider this for sure. Unfortunately, the response too is so unprofessional with an email id that is non-valid. I’m very confident that in all my past dine-in experiences, I’ve tipped adequately, even 50% at times. People come to restaurants to have good experience, and servers add that to families, and that’s when tip etiquette comes into role, not when they take out their aggression out of unrealistic expectation for a bad service, and make us feel intimidated. I would have appreciated if he would have reciprocated the same respect I had for him when he put the blame on the chef, and we ignored his rude behaviour. There is no compensation to disrespect, and the misbehaviour I received that day, except I can save a few people from getting insulted. Necessitating tips make the customer guilty of a bad service and not the servers. Dear Management, I wish you teach him the etiquette’s and value for a good service, rather than letting good customer go. This proves the non-ethical environment further. I’m happy for the good servers I had are gone from here.
