I had a very bad experience with the assistant store manager named Alton. He is highly unprofessional. I asked for his name; however, he pointed to his name tag instead of verbalizing it. I asked him to show me the store return policy, but he refused. I also asked him to give me a pen and piece of paper so that I could write his name, yet he declined. I contacted the Safeway Corporate Office and made a complaint about him. Currently, I am expecting a call from his superiors. Alton should not be dealing with customers. The way he treats, responds, and handles customers is very improper for the company. To make sure that I had his correct name, I called the store. He picked up the phone, and when I asked him for his name, he told me that his name was Al. I asked him if Al was his nickname or real name, and he answered by saying Al was his real name. Then, a representative from Safeway Corporate Office called the store and asked for his real name, and he finally told her that his real name was Alton. I even asked him if I could talk to the store manager, but he said that he was the store manager, although, in fact he was the assistant store manager.
Alton should get training on how to deal with customers. I hope he will not treat other customers the way he treated me.
This is a very tired, and poorly managed store, with the exception of the produce dept that is very good. Very few checkouts are open. They want you to self-check (which I hate).
Easy to move around inside the store no long lines.Easy to find what you are looking for.
A great selection of products and friendly, helpful staff.
Store is always clean, staff is always kind and helpful and .... and the grocery items remain expensive as hell!

Digital Coupon my foot!!!... I am not going to load your app on my phone Giant. Customer service desk would not honor the so called DC price, so I walked out of there... for good. Way to lose customers.
Not the fault of the employees at the store. They are always nice. It's the MBA geniuses at corporate headquarters that come up with ideas like this who ought to be fired.

The bakery is not professional.they give order and with all the information and design but you receive something different.it’s not acceptable specially when you have a kid’s birthday with kids design .I’m not recommending.
I am a long time customer of Safeway. Parking is good with 2 levels. They have a decent selection of what I need at a reasonable price, and a nice staff with people like Ted and Fatima who are helpful, pleasant, and respond to questions in good tone. However, I had the misfortune of meeting Shamfa who was short-tempered, ill- mannered, condescending and overall unsuited for customer service based on my personal experience, which is the reason I took away 2 stars for my latest visit.
I will never shop there again, ever! 90% of the food has already expired or is going to in less than one month. I even saw one product that had expired over a year ago. I also purchased cooked chicken which was so raw that I threw it out as I vowed never to go back to return it.
I’m through with this poorly run store.
