Nice spot in Media. Brunch was nice and the French press coffee was good.
I truly hate to leave a bad review mostly because I understand how hard is to run a restaurant. However this is my 3rd time giving Rye a try, first 2-times the food was mediocre but yesterday was terrible. Sauce on the pasta wasn’t fresh, very salty and just not good. The scallops were barely seared on 1-side, (sort of boiled, floating on the plate), the sauce was watery and very poorly executed. Very disappointing - not worth the trip. The space is so cute I hope it vacates for some other talented person to bring good food to Media.
Reservations for 1:30pm on a Sunday so it was quieting down; comfortable and cozy and clean! Had the Shakshuka and the marinara sauce was delicious. Also had Gnocchi Sardi and Orecchiette ~ so between the 3 dishes, wasn't sure which was going to be the "last bite" of flavor. Decided on the toast and Shakshuka. Brussel sprouts a nice portion to share. The TOAST was so simple yet so crunchy and buttery, had to order more and it was only $4 for a 2nd order. Brought a Rose champagne for the brunch and a red for the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and Cinnamon Bun to top off the meal. French Press Coffee to boot. Try RYE before you die!
Came during brunch and it was phenomenal. Everything was so fresh and delicious the platter gives you a little of everything and the service was impeccable Kerry was great! Can’t wait to come again to try dinner!
the pancakes were perfect ✨
Thought we would give this a try and had dinner here recently with another couple. Food was decent but the portions were insanely small for what you are paying. The pork chop was mostly bone, scallops were very minimal swimming in what looked like soup and pasta portions were so small we left pretty hungry, enough where we had to eat after. We did order a couple of apps, the hummas and pita was good and an ok portion, the brussel sprouts were tasty but again portion was ridiculous and mostly cilantro covering the app. Staff was fine and ambience was nice, not decorated for the holidays whatsoever but to each their own.
Absolutely delicious food & fantastic al fresco dining experience. Highly recommend!
I had dinner at Rye last night and had a great experience. Our waitress knew the menu really well, and did a great job explaining the different dishes and answering all of our questions. Ordering the milk buns is an absolute must. We had two different pasta, dishes, and the trout. All three meals were delicious. The restaurant is very nice and intimate. I would highly recommend Rye for dinner or brunch.
Do you like a burger that is medium in size an 9/10 good for $17 with no fries, and no option of fries on the menu? Then this place is for you. This offends me every time. Do you like a 7/10 vegan bahn mi with a thin slice of eggplant that leaves you starving for $16 with no sides? If you like food that’s overpriced and made with high technical skill but not a lot of soul or point of view and no sides, this place is great. Maybe I’m just too cheap, and I’m ok w that.
