The shrimp trio is my favorite

I stopped in cause it was national taco day and they sent me a coupon for a free taco (with stipulations). I told the guy taking my order I wanted a gourmet shrimp taco and the showed him my coupon and he said he'd scan the bar code on the coupon and just give me 2 gourmet shrimp tacos for the price of one - pretty good deal. The tacos were good, but not great. Shrimp were bland and the tortillas were cold, but I liked the sauce on the tacos. $10 for 2 tacos (one of them free) and a medium soda seemed kinda pricy for those tacos though. I think next time I'll just stick with their Tuesday night deals on their fish tacos.

We came to this place on my daughter birthday for dinner. We specifically mentioned that there should be no pork/bacon in the shrimp tacos and we got the confirmation from the attendant. Also made sure that there is no lard in the beans and got the confirmation from the chef as well. When I toom the first bite, I immediately felt the smoky smell of bacon/pork and me and wife literally spitted the tacos. It is prohibited for us to consume any such item and we are extremely allergic to it. I took the whole thing to the counter and attendant was so calm about the issue and said that we did add porknto one taco. We are sorry about that. I mean seriously!! Even after repeated reminders and confirmations, these guys never cared about our meal. I was never compensated for anything even after repeated complaint. Few other people witnessed the incident and they were also surprised at the "don't care" behaviour of the staff. We left the place disappointed but decided never to return to this place ever again.

So I don’t go to Rubios often as they are an average fast food Mexican and a step up from Taco Bell. Ordered 2 mahi-mahi tacos and a carne asada burrito. My fish tacos were very good. But the steak burrito was more gristle than steak — completely inedible. I don’t understand restaurants that serve such low quality food. Given how common steak/carne asada is and popular — one would think that they would edit their product better. So no I won’t be going back ever again.
