I went to Rouj years ago shortly after they opened and I was unimpressed. However, after hearing others rave about it, I decided to give it a second try and I was glad I did. We went on a slow night so I can't say how the service is when they're busy, but we had great service. And our food was equally great. I had the soft shell crab piccata and really enjoyed it.
Outstanding in all aspects! We got to town a little late & stopped in just for a lite bite & drinks. The oysters, black and blue tips & wine were so wonderful we returned after business the next night to try more. Round 2 included the Feta Whipped Brussels, Creole French dip & Duck + Butter beans. Again everything was fantastic!! Thank you to Brian, Sadie, Seth & everyone for the wonderful service & evening
Our food was the best! We had the boudin queso and the redfish- it was all great! The employees were all very helpful and attentive- we'll definitely go back over and over-
Went here on New Year's Eve and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There was a special menu, but you could order off the regular menu if you chose to. We ordered off of both. Food was delicious! Service was excellent. Very friendly staff, knowledgeable about menu items, and provided superb service. I can't recall what we had, but we all enjoyed everything from the cocktails, to the appetizers and entrees, and finishing with a scrumptious dessert. We definitely appreciated such a good ending to the year!
My fiancée and I decided to stop by for their happy hour and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We went around 2 pm and sat at the bar, which wasn’t too busy. We started off with the crab cakes and oysters. The bartender, Sadie, was excellent at helping us navigate the menu. Since they were out of crabmeat at the time, Sadie suggested we try the crawfish cream instead and it was delicious! We will be back soon and will be requesting Sadie.
We asked the recommendation of our server and they suggested the redfish, it did not disappoint!
Ate Brunch - It was SO GOOD. Our server, Tyler G. was FANTASTIC. Great recommendations from him and he was very prompt with drink refills! I had the Fried eggplant and Crawfish. It had a crawfish cream sauce, green onions, and the eggplant MELTED in my mouth. We also had the Harissa Cauliflower for an appetizer. It's a crispy fried cauliflower tossed in a spicy harissa mayo, drizzled with feta fondue and cilantro. I'm not a spicy person (ha), but this was the perfect taste. For dessert we had Apple Pie Nachos -Classic apple pie filling, cinnamon chips, vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce. SO GOOD. And also had Brownie Napoleon - Homemade, vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, berry coulis . Again, the flavors were great. The brownie was cake-like yet not too fluffy. I enjoyed both. Only downside - it is REALLY LOUD. We had a hard time hearing each other because the place was packed for Brunch. Other than that, a good time.
Had an amazing experience overall. Our server Andy was knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend
