My boyfriend and I dined in to celebrate our two year anniversary. We were blown away with the service, from check in through the moment we left. The host stand was efficient and organized, and even gave us menus that said, “Happy Anniversary!”. We dined with David, who is clearly a seasoned professional. He has fantastic menu knowledge and had a smile on his face the whole time. Complimented by the gorgeous and romantic vibes inside, there was not a better place for us to celebrate. After my first time in, I can say confidently that we will be back to Ris.

Ris was a great place, but not perfect. The daily special was fried chicken, and it was quite good. However, the biscuit was lackluster and the food took a long time to come out. Service overall was great and we found that our water glasses were never even close to empty. Perhaps things would have been faster had there not been a massive group. My one friend got the burger and said it was the best he ever had, so your mileage may vary on how good the meal is. Overall, quite good but not the best I’ve ever had.

We had a great evening at Ris. We had a modest party and the round State Room table was available for us. Chef Ris was engaged with the reservation and specifics throughout. She was helpful and flexible as our plans evolved. Our server, Jennifer was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the Portuguese seafood stew, the Monkfish, Beef Tenderloin and a great comfort food Fried Chicken special. We were able to pass appetizers and desserts. Everyone selected their own entree - sop as organizer, I had little to do other than send the invite! Would use Ris again for any fine dining downtown. Dietary restrictions: We did not have dietary concerns, but our server checked and offered accommodations.

Food was really bland. Everything could have used salt. The kale and brussel sprout salad did not have any brussel sprouts. The sweet potato soup tasted like chicken broth. It was extremely over priced for the quality of food. Not recommended.

Food was delicious. I had the salmon and my husband had the beef tenderloin. The apple crostata was very tasty. The drinks were good and strong. We will definitely return.

Brussels sprouts were good. Clam linguine had sandy clams. Ambience was nice, but there were flies in the dining room. Service was pleasant.
