The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is decent but watch out for drink prices. Didn't see any prices posted and I realized why when as asked for a glass of Guinness at the bar and it was $11.75! *FOR ONE GLASS OF BEER* This is not an upscale place and I have never paid close to that, even in NYC
Came on a Thursday night. And it was $5 dollar burger night. I was actually starving for a burger. 20 years ago, I was introduced to the recovery room across from Albany Medical Center. When I had my first of many hamburgers from them. It hasn't changed a single bit. And is always exactly as advertised. I appreciate the consistency of good food. This is a go-to for anyone wanting a mouthwatering hamburger.
Normally great service was a bit of a different crew but our server had to cover the entire restaurant so points awarded back for that. Will be back! Kid-friendliness: Kids menu, crayons and drawing sheet. Thankful they don't seem to mind rambunctious little ones.
Long wait, with the hostess missing for much of the time. She didn't take names, so seating was done haphazardly for those who were waiting. Loud, busy bar and an open, echo-y space.
The people who come here and the bartenders are great! The waitress we had was horrible to my disabled cousin and friend. She didn't help with a straw for 30 minutes and wouldn't refill drinks unless asked. It felt like she was ignoring us. The food was good. But not great like Illusive or other sports bars. Vegetarian options: It's ok
Went day after Thanksgiving, clearly were a bit shorthanded but our server did a tremendous job. He we very pleasant and as quick as he could be. He had many tables. Food was tasty and fast. Restaurant cleanliness was a tad lacking. Tables hadn't been cleaned that had been vacated for 30 mins, some minor debris on the floor. I'd write it off to not enough help. Those that were there working were doing so feverishly.
We were there 12/14/23 ordered burgers and waitress offered "basket of fries" add on which we got. Began eating fries and had spicy after taste ... after about 10 my lips were burning, red, roof of my mouth & back of throat itching. Recognizing an allergic reaction I asked what was on the fries to be told by the waitress salt, pepper, garlic powder & paprika. Let us know we can call medical or an ambulance. Then returned to ask if we wanted dessert or coffee without our check. No manager ever came. I called Recovery Room today and was told "all our fries are seasoned and not written on the menu, maybe that could be changed." That person said they use a cajun blend not paprika. No call back from the Manager. Food allergies are serious & for no one to know what's on the food served or how to address a customer telling them of an allergic reaction is incredibly poor in a food establishment.
