Rashida Sawyer Bakery

A horrible experience with Rashida Bakery. I ordered a dozen cupcakes a month in advance for my son on his birthday. They called 24 hours before his birthday to tell me they could not deliver on a Sunday. They are closed and they can deliver on Saturday. No apology at all. After expressing my disappointment, they said they would see if someone could deliver and call me back. The dozen cupcakes were costing $67, which was already ridiculous. I called another bakery in Ithaca who was not only willing to make the cupcakes and deliver them on Sunday but they also provided two dozen cupcakes for what Rashida was charging me for one dozen. They did eventually call back and said they could deliver on a Sunday - JUST THIS ONE TIME and I told them that I found someone else to do it. Keep in mind - this was their error scheduling a delivery on a day they are not open, yet I was made to feel like I made the error. I fully charged for the cupcakes anyway and when I recently called to be reimbursed they said they would not reimburse me because they had offered to deliver them. Yes - they did - hours after they told me that they would not deliver on a Sunday with 48 hours until my son's birthday. This bakery is rude, overpriced, and dishonest. I was charged for cupcakes I never received after being told they could not deliver them on the date I had set weeks before. I will NEVER order anything from this bakery again and I will ensure that everyone at my son's university on social media who looks to order something from a bakery for their child hears this story. ------- Following up to the comment from Rashida Sawyer Bakery, the individuals who were rude and disgusting were you and your employees. Your bakery made an error and refused to apologize for it and offered no other fix than to deliver it on the wrong day. Only after I expressed my disappointment did someone look into having them delivered on a Sunday. If you want to cover up your bad business practices, rude customer service, and dishonest transactions by name-calling your customers, lying about the incident, and blaming them for your errors, well, then I do not need to say anymore. You have underscored my horrible review of your bakery and staff. I will be reaching out to the Better Business Bureau about my interactions with your bakery, including the fact that your response below is full of lies and is defamation. I highly suggest you remove it.

I came in for a quick cup of tea to go, and wouldn't go back to check out a desert. The guy at the counter (maybe the owner?) was dismissive and decidedly unfriendly, while the hot water was tepid and made for a lacking cuppa. SMH.

Kind of a hidden gem! Hands down, the best desserts around! Anything we've tried has been amazing, so it's hard to choose a favorite! We frequently get cheesecake and carrot cake! The service is fantastic! Really, a cute little place... they have a few small tables, at least, if you'd like to stay for a treat and some local, fresh brewed coffee. You may place orders ahead, walk in for a slice to go (and sometimes they have larger options ready to box up and take home with you!) They even offer a small variety of other local goods! You're missing out if you haven't been yet!

Rashida Sawyer Bakery you did not disappoint! Not only was the chocolate swirl cheesecake amazing, the customer service was exceptional! Can't wait to try the cherry cheesecake and fruit tart we snagged for the trip back to Iowa! I have to agree with the reviews and word on the street. Best cheesecake I've ever had! Great way to end our time in New York. Thank you! We will definitely be ordering to have more shipped.

Words can not describe what a wonderful job they did making a cutting cake for my son’s wedding. Simple but elegant!! I may live in Canandaigua but will definitely head over that way just to get a special treat!!!
