Rae & Jerry's Steak House

Had the prime rib like I always have this time it was very fatty at least 1/3 was fat. Will try again because to me this was unusual. Still a great restaurant.

We had a group reservation (15) in the lounge@5pm on a Friday Feb 23 after work. They had set up 2 tables for us (not together) we asked if we could move the tables which they didn't seem happy about, we moved them ourselves. The service was quite slow and some peoples drinks were wrong when delivered. When it came to paying I asked for separate bills for my two colleagues who were leaving and I pointed out who they were. They gave me the wrong bill and the person who it was a gift for had to pay her own meal. They apologized for getting it wrong but I was not impressed with the wait staff, they were unfriendly, inattentive and slow.

The steak was amazing!

It was an amazing experience, especially our waitress Linda. She was super kind and nice, always smiling. Amazing food and drinks, we will definitely go again without regrets.

We booked a table OpenTable for the evening and when we got there they said there was nothing available. The assumed manager seemed friendly and scrambled to get us a table in the lounge, which was very much appreciated. But not preferred due to the uncomfortable table arrangement. The service itself wasn't overly amazing. It seemed like and felt like we weren't as welcomed as the other guests, from the service perceived from all the surrounding tables. Maybe it was because we were people of colour? I'm not sure since we were the only non-caucasian that were visible. Either way, we felt incredibly looked down upon. The waitress wasn't very attentive, nor did they converse. It seemed like they were there to get the bare minimum job done. The food was decent.. though the "Jumbo Shrimp" was terribly disappointing, it was just breaded shrimp on white toast, but there was such a long wait time between each course, by the time the main course came, we all weren't even that hungry anymore. The only reason it gets 2 stars is 1 goes to the lady that got us that table. The other star is for how beautiful the retro place looked. Otherwise, it was mediocre for over 300$. Not recommended if you're not Caucasian.

My favourite winnipeg special treat. Never had a bad experience or meal there.

I reserved a table in the restaurant and we were seated in the bar. My friend ordered a beer on tap that was mentioned by the waitress. The waitress came back and said they actually didn't have any. We ordered dinner and my other friend asked for a Greek salad no tomatoes. It came with tomatoes. We all ordered steak for dinner and 2 were under done and 1 was way under but only on 1 side. When we placed our orders we were given a choice of broccoli or green beans 3 out of 4 of us ordered broccoli. The waitress came back to the table quite a bit later saying they didn't have broccoli but had peas and carrots. When dinner arrived it was carrots only. The service was not great. I asked for another drink however my 3 friends would have ordered another had the waitress asked them. She did not. Overall the food was just OK not spectacular or memorable and table in the bar was too small and not comfortable for a nice meal.
