Awesome service had a blast

Pretty cool spot below the Pint! Some of the machines ate our tokens, which was lame, and the pool table was missing a ball. Good pub snacks, and the games are mostly a good value ($1-2 per play, for the most part).

Great games, fun time. Great options for either rooftop service, regular pub experience on the main floor, or the Pubcade experience found in the basement. Drinks are reasonably priced for the area with specials that offer competitive pricing. To take it from a 4 to 5 star review, I would suggest adding a token machine that accepts debit or credit as a payment method. It would help increase revenue as my friends and I have found ourselves having to stop playing once we run out of cash, but would’ve continued if we had the option to use our cards. If the company who provided the token machines doesn’t offer card based solutions, I’d be happy to take a look and see if there’s an easy way of implementing a card payment option into your pre-existing machines (I work in tech and this would be a fun side project). If you’re interested just provide me with a contact method and I’d be happy to brainstorm some options.

Awesome Spot!

The good stuff: Good variety of different games and mix of classics (pinball, Mario, Pacman, Tetris, etc). Really great fun and not crowded (went on a Thursday), so easy to get on the games you want to play. I am so happy this exists in Halifax, these kind of places are a delight. Stuff to work on: Some janky controls on some of the older machines (think it was Tetris that was a challenge, one of the shooting games was a challenge to reload the gun, and one of the flippers on one of the pinball machines didn't work, which you only find out once you start playing ☹️) - it would be worthwhile having staff test play regularly and request services on the more temperamental machines. Only one machine to get tokens to play, and it slow weeps out tokens (put your $5 in and prepare to stand in front of the machine for 3 minutes while one token at a time languidly pops out). Would definitely go back, hopefully the teething problems can be worked through, and they aren't dealbreakers, just a bit of an annoyance. Also a curiosity side note: not sure why they didn't call it Barcade, feel like they missed a trick
